Split stay for 7 nights at WDW?

Hello! We are planning our kids’ first Disney trip for February. 7 nights, 5 park days plus one resort day (all 4 parks, plus 2 days for MK). Kiddos will be newly 5 and just under 3.
We are currently booked at Grand Floridian for 7 nights in a 1 bedroom villa but wondering if we should switch to Beach Club for the first 3 nights (and try to hit HS, Epcot first) and then GF for last 4 nights to do MKx2, AK and our resort day.

My younger will likely still nap by then so I’m thinking it may be easier although the idea of switching hotels mid week and not having a place for naps that day sounds pretty challenging.

It would save about $1200 as well which is appealing but not the primary thing we are solving for. I really just want it to be the best overall experience.

I’d love to get thoughts from those with similar age kids, or those who have done split stays! What do you recommend? Also, if split stay - move hotels on a resort day or park day?

Also if anyone has direct experience with the 1 bedroom villas at GF and BC and can comment on the quality of the room that would be super helpful!

VIP tour pricing during race weekend?

Hi all! Does anyone have exact pricing from Disney World VIP tours during or around race weekends? I’m most interested in the Thursday before or Friday of Princess Half Marathon weekend in late Feb / early March but any data points would be super helpful! Thank you!

Princess Marathon Weekend impacts

Hi! We will be taking my 5 and almost 3 year old to WDW Feb 23-28th. My understanding is the 26-28 is the Princess Marathon Weekend and I’m a bit stressed about that. I’d like to minimize waiting in traffic and/or large crowds. My questions are:

  1. If I’m staying at Grand Floridian, will we have traffic issues driving or taking the bus to Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios on Friday / Saturday morning? Would MK be better to do those mornings bc of proximity (I’ve been told to avoid MK Fri/Saturday/Sun bc of the crowds but wondering if that changes Race weekend?)
  2. Are crowds worse in the parks in the mornings right after the races or in the afternoons / evenings (after runners have showered/napped)?
  3. Should I consider a split stay (Grand Floridian at the beginning to do MK/Epcot, Beach Club at the end to do HS/AK) so I can use the Skyliner to get to HS and avoid road closures?

Thank you!
