I made an EQL Bard JukeBox for anyone suffering from song-selection indecision

Picture yourself in a 1950s pizza parlor.

The jukebox is glowing. There are dozens of songs to choose from. Your friends are waiting. The pizza is getting cold.

“Golly... which of these swell numbers should I play?”

Now replace the jukebox with an EverQuest Legends Bard spellbook, and that was the problem I wanted to solve.

I created the EverQuest Legends Bard JukeBox, which lets you select:

• Your character level
• Your Symphonic Aura ranks
• Your Mnemonic Retention ranks
• Whether you want an additional melody
• How much room you want to preserve for spells from your other classes

The advisor recommends only songs available at your level, prioritizes the most broadly useful choices, and does not try to cram a Bard song into every available gem slot. It also produces a copy/paste-ready /melody command using its recommendations.

The entire workbook has been given a dark-mode-friendly design, or at least as close to dark mode as Google Sheets will allow. It also includes a separate reference list containing 61 Bard songs, sorted by level, with filters for every column and song-name colors based on the familiar in-game target categories.

USE THE INTERACTIVE BARD SONG ADVISOR

You cannot use the dropdowns in the official master. You must make your own editable copy using this link:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X_73uSeE1h9yFk1SPEpsVLbkT5U452m2PysZEdWY2sY/copy

Click the link, select Make a copy, and Google will place a personal, editable version in your own Drive.

VIEW THE OFFICIAL MASTER

The official master is strictly view-only. You can examine the sheet, but you cannot operate its dropdowns, edit cells, or make any other changes:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X_73uSeE1h9yFk1SPEpsVLbkT5U452m2PysZEdWY2sY/edit?usp=drivesdk

This protects the official community version from accidental changes. Anything you do in your personal copy affects only your copy.

So step away from the jukebox, put down the nickel, and let the sheet help pick the tunes. You've got motes to grind!

[Podcast] The Nokturnal Tavern Episode 003: A Friend Among Enemies is available now

Hello, everyone. Episode 003 of The Nokturnal Tavern, “A Friend Among Enemies,” is now available.

Episode 002 of The Nokturnal Tavern podcast is now up!

The Nokturnal Tavern Episode 002...Ghosts in the Trees is now available

This week’s episode covers the August 18 EverQuest Legends patch, including the Castle Mistmoore revamp, UI and cursor scaling, targeted charm changes, the Bloodmoon merge, and the different zone and instance types.

There are also 5 Quick Tips, an Ak’Anon Adjustments segment about making EverQuest’s chat windows more functional, and a Three-Way Theory breakdown of a Paladin, Monk, and Enchanter trio.

I also spend some time talking about why I finally started the podcast and an unexpected reconnection with someone I originally introduced to EverQuest around 2000 or 2001.

The Lore & Legends segment returns to A Weary Traveler’s Journal for the Battle of Bloody Kithicor and the haunting that awakens beneath its trees after nightfall.

You can listen here:

https://www.podbean.com/pi/pbblog-t7c8k-15810b8

It is also available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube.

I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback, corrections, Quick Tips, or stories you think might belong in a future episode.

A new podcast

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share something I’ve finally gotten off the ground after wanting to start a podcast for years.

It’s called The Nokturnal Tavern, a podcast centered around EverQuest Legends, the EverQuest community, and the stories that have kept Norrath alive for so many of us.

The idea is pretty simple…pull up a stool and talk EverQuest.
We’ll get into what’s happening in EverQuest Legends, talk about the different ways people are building and playing their characters, dig into the history and lore of Norrath, and hopefully give members of the community another place to share their own stories.

I’m an old EverQuest player myself, so part of the fun for me is looking back at the game we remember while experiencing this new version of Norrath alongside everyone else. I originally played EQ from the release of Kunark until 2005 when I got shipped to the North Pole. Since then I’ve drifted in and out of the EverQuest sphere over the years. Coming back into it now has also meant catching up on everything that’s happened in Norrath since I last really roamed it, which has been an adventure in itself.

This is also my first ever podcast, so I’m absolutely learning as I go. If you give it a listen, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think…what works, what doesn’t, topics you’d like to hear covered, corrections when I inevitably get something wrong, or stories from your own time in Norrath.

You can find The Nokturnal Tavern here:
🎧 Spotify
🍎 Apple Podcasts
🎙️ PodBean Direct

If you decide to give it a listen…thank you. Seriously.
And whether you’re discovering Norrath for the first time or you’re one of us old heads who still has stories from “the good ole days “…
Pull up a stool. We’ll save you a spot at the bar.

Thank you for time and consideration,
Nokturn
