Bad cough and sore throat after FET

Has anyone gotten super sick with a cold and or cough after their transfer? I know our immune systems are lower and the rest of our body is working hard to house these embryo(s) at this point so I get it makes sense to catch something easily ? Maybe?

I have done and tried all the natural remedies at this point, will take any other suggestions!!
just wanted to know if this was normal for anyone else!!! Anything will help at this point 😩

Last hoorah

42 when we started now newly 44 (annoyingly healthy due to wanting this so bad )

hubby got a reversal and we got good sperm counts

we started 2024

6 iuis (unexplained infertility)

2 IVF cycles (2 retrievals, a total of 10 embryos to blast. 7 abnormal, 3 untested (long story*)

so we had 3 left, and we did our FET Aug 10th with all three, sort of a last hail Mary. Three day 6 embryos..

not sure if anyone else has done that many embryos at once? Would love to hear success stories or any stories.

*I know it’s controversial about them being untested, but we had no choice as they couldn't thaw them to biopsy them it was too risky for the embryo and the nurse didn’t tell us that was not an option after we moved forward with the ones we were testing (the money was overwhelming and I had already put down 14,000 in the span of two days (I know in hindsight I should have paid more but she never explained the first part not being an option)

please be nice and any advice and or other people’s experiences would be so helpful.
I’m hoping the numbers game is on my side and something great comes out of this. Trying to stay positive.

3 untested embryos

We totaled 10 embryos,7 from first retrieval and 3 from second retreival. There was confusion about the out of pocket payment and pgt testing. We only tested 4 out of the 7 and then the 3 from the next retrieval. all tested came back abnormal. Because the 3 left from the first 7 couldn’t be thawed and biopsied due to messing w the embryo is bad, we had 3 left.
my doctor told us it could be our last shot to transfer those, so we are, on Aug 10.

there was some miscommunication and misunderstanding and overwhelmed with stress with all the financial so I know I should have just shelled out a couple more thousand dollars to test but when I just threw down $13,000 in one week it was ALOT but I didn’t and so now my biggest thought is, 7/10 were abnormal, could the 3 remaining have at least one good one ?!
has anyone ever had some tested/some not? I realize this is an insane scenario please be kind

Father of the bride 2

I’m pretty sure this is a movie plot. We are about to do our second cycle of IVF. my husband and i get a FaceTime last night from his daughter, my step daughter, she shows us a positive pregnancy test. she’s 24, wasn’t trying is with her boyfriend and seems very excited

the amount of emotions I felt was like a gut punch into a panic attack into etc

she doesn’t know about what we are doing.

I just wanna see if anyone had this similar situation. The one thing I’m realizing is that there are an abundance of scenarios you can’t even begin to prepare for.
I feel completely wiped out but trying to stay positive and trying to separate the two.
that would be wild to be pregnant with your stepdaughter at the same time !!!

Mother’s Day

I just wanted to write a post supporting all of us who have to see the world acknowledging Mother’s Day today, while a lot of us are in a silent fight with fertility. It hits very hard for myself and I’m sure I’m not alone. I wish nothing but the best for all of your journeys and hope you treat yourself kindly today. We are all mothers in some shape or form or motherly, and if that’s what I have to focus on today while I wait to do my next cycle, that’s all I got. LOVE YOU ALL AND I LOVE WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN WE GOT THIS

Been doing iui/IVF for a little over two years, meanwhile life, death and new babies in the family all continues. Happy and sad things continue.

do you tell your family about your fertility journey? We chose not to, but I’m wondering if people who also chose not to, if it’s a negative outcome and you’re done trying, do you tell them? Like lay it all out after the fact ?

we are open about a lot in my family, and my husbands is sort of open for the most part.

The thing is, we decided not to tell because of the possible heartache and the stress we are already going through we didn’t want to keep letting people down or basically having them ride the rollercoaster with us but if we get to the point of being done do we tell them at all? or is best to never say anything after ?

just curious and opinion hunting thank you and good luck to all out there as this is so hard but we are strong !!!!💪

I’m 43 we had seven embryos. we only had four tested (due to having to decide before retrieval not knowing what numbers we would get) those 4 were abnormal now we have three embryos left.
First option is transfer without testing.

Second option is thawed, biopsy, then refreeze and test.

Third option is to do another cycle and get more eggs.

Has anyone been through something like this before?? we feel like we are at a crossroads….It’s a very hard decision to make with obviously a lot of risks involved.

▲ 1 r/IVF

43 year old female I had 13 follicles, 11 matured, then there was 9 and we landed on 7. SEVEN EMBRYOS which was very exciting for my age.
we got four tested because the out of pocket cost had the minimum of 4 to be tested and then the rest would be extra to keep in the freezer. We couldn’t choose the number ahead of time to test, which is silly and we didn’t know how many we would get. So unfortunately those 4 tested abnormal.
now we have 3.

our options for the remaining 3 are:

thaw biopsy refreeze with potential risk or stressing/losing the embryos

transfer without testing, not sure how many 2 or 3 would be transferred but risk of miscarriage, having an abnormal baby, or wouldn’t stick at all.

option 3

do a whole other IVF cycle.
we are so overwhelmed but had to hear what others thought help!!!
