This HAS to be a glitch. lol!

This HAS to be a glitch. lol!

That’s a heck of a lot more than 50 miles! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I can’t believe there isn’t another Target between Portland and southern Oregon. (This is sarcasm.)

For the “Delivery Only” Orders

So my area started offering “Large Routes” and I see that it says “50 cubic feet….” And then lists the number of packages (like normal.)

I’ve done small and medium in my Corolla and it was fine (aside from a stroller AND car seat in one delivery.)

Do the large routes seem to be more big boxes or just a larger number of boxes/packages?

Also, what happened if stuff doesn’t fit? There’s been a couple times where I had to do some creative Tetris loading, but everything has always worked out.

Can you leave packages or would you have to forfeit the entire order?

Hmmm….😏🤔

I worked this morning. Nothing was different. Parked, took photo, checked in.

I swear all these “improvements” are nothing but fluff and gaslighting.

The litter from hell

I don’t know if this is trending on TikTok or it’s suddenly on a drastic sale, but I’ve delivered so many boxes of this litter in the last several weeks and it’s heavy.

I’m a very strong get but I much prefer the litter in the bags because I can sling it over my shoulder. This is compact in a box so it feels like I’m delivering a ton of bricks.

And both of these were going to the same house, naturally with several steps up to the porch. Lol.

FINALLY!

Nothing like getting to the stadium in the hopes to buy a limited edition scarf and realize they’re sold out because somebody bought 10 of them.

I really hope they enforce this.

Parking Lot Solution! (hopefully)

I just came into the parking lot and was stopped by somebody before you actually turn into the main lot and they said effective tomorrow, 7/15, you cannot arrive more than a half an hour before your block and they will be verifying that by checking your schedule.

They also are stopping people from coming in the first lane (so the wrong way) and when you leave, they are directing people to go out the truck lane as opposed to looping back around and exiting where the entrance is.

I want to be excited, but I wanna make sure this actually sticks and it actually makes sense.

I told him thank you because we’ve been wanting something like this for at least a year if not longer

Some of these people…

If people know Kalama, they know there are a lot of very wealthy and expansive houses. (I haven’t gotten this area in a long time so there are even more that are being built, which means more deliveries.) 🤮 I know I know… “but the view.” Meh. Doesn’t do it for me personally because I think about logistics and how far away it is from everything like healthcare and emergency services and groceries, etc.

Anyway, I’m going to one of the stops and I read the notes and they are so rude and condescending and normally I mark them as such, but the button wasn’t working.

The person basically ripped on Flex drivers (maybe deserved but probably not) and said she doesn’t understand why we can’t figure out a gate code and it’s really easy and the van drivers do it all the time. Kept calling us the “casual drivers.” I know a lot of people say you can’t read into the notes, but this was just so snarky.

When I’m feeling really passive aggressive , I’ll leave the package at the gate, but of course they had landscapers and I didn’t want to do that so I figured out the gate code and as I’m driving up to the house, I look up and think “yup. That note tracks.”

It’s the kind of thing where I wanna tell them if they don’t like how we’re delivering their packages, they can put a box outside the gate or they can have them delivered to a locker.

A lot of these areas are lucky that we even go up to the house because USPS/FedEx/UPS and even the garbage won’t.

FYI-Parking “Tickets”

I was talking to one of the managers this morning and we were commiserating about the parking and he said obviously they can only do so much with the situation but they have been issuing “tickets” to people that park in the employee lane and the truck lane.

I don’t know what is considered a “ticket” but they said they issued quite a few the other evening.

Just be aware if you like to park there, they are absolutely monitoring it.

Check In Kiosks-Update

I talked to one of the managers today and allegedly they are supposed to be effective at 3 PM this afternoon, but based on his facial expression, he didn’t seem very convinced.

Also, not surprising, but I haven’t received any kind of update or email from Amazon.

New check-in system

About a year ago, one of the staff members at the helpdesk made a comment to me about how they can’t wait until we can check in with our phone and I just kind of looked at him because everything is always a rumor until it actually happens. Imagine my surprise when I go to do a block today and I see the little check-in stations outside with an image of a phone.

Yes. They are outside.

It would be really helpful if we get some sort of an email because this feels like a significant change to the process, but I’m sure they will just implement it and then get mad at us when we don’t know what we’re doing.

And also, why the hell is that station a zoo at 7 PM. I’ve never done anything past 630 but I decided to give this one a try because I figured it would be pretty quiet and I was grossly mistaken.

Walmart. $7.00. Polar Summer Edition. (PNW)

Squealed a little when I saw it. I’m more of a Waterloo person, but I love summer editions!

u/Majestic_Interest365 — 3 months ago

A no-brainer, but Amazon is dumb.

This is from Shipt delivery.

Once you’ve loaded your vehicle, you have to return the cart to the specific area and then scan the sign and then they release your route.

Seems like this is something that Amazon could easily do, but they would rather hire a bunch of people and yell at us with the megaphone.

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted, even though it’s just a question, but does anyone else feel like we keep hearing the same 3-4 chants at the matches?

I feel like there’s a lot more, but they don’t sing them.

If I hear “we’re at your gates, we at your door” one more time…

😂

Please tell me I’m not imagining this….

And also, this is not a slight on the chant leaders or the riveter section or anything. It’s more of an actual observation and question.

My morning route. Third trip to Salem since last Thursday.

Two of those trips I got extra pay….

Will I again? 🤔🤣

(And PSA….I don’t buy that “algorithm/locked in” theory. I’ve been in other places this week as well.)

I just thought this was funny…

u/Majestic_Interest365 — 4 months ago

Yup, still going there.

I haven’t been in months and I went there Thursday night and went there this morning.

Incidentally, my excessive mileage pay that I got on Saturday was for my Thursday night Salem route so who knows what’s happening? (It wasn’t even that bad. It was pretty tightly packed.) 🤷🏼‍♀️

Maybe this is their solution to the high gas prices because I’ve never gotten excessive mileage for Salem, even when I’ve gone way out west on the Dallas-Salem Highway.

Sigh…..

For anyone that gets Salmon Creek up near WSU-V, be warned that parts of 29th Ave, 50th Ave, and 179th St are closed for construction.

If you know that area, you know that these are all major roads that connect, and I had to take multiple detours to deliver several packages today and it was super irritating.

I had one that had been attempted once and I was the second attempt and I couldn’t understand why. It’s not an apartment or anything weird.

And then I saw why. 179th is closed at 29th and the delivery was at 31st. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I could’ve driven to the house, but I would’ve had to drive all the way around to come up on the other side of the closure and I was like “f**k that, I’ll walk it.”

I’m sure it’s frustrating for the residents but I think it’s interesting that people are ordering packages to be delivered to their house when you can’t even access it. Dumb.

…. it’s really difficult to get them unless you can fly or you’re parked at the station. Check the time on my phone and the time the block starts.

So all these people that come on here and say that surges are gone or that they don’t exist are actually incorrect.

They do still exist…technically.

But yes, just like everything else with this gig work, things have changed. The sooner people accept that, the sooner we can move on. Props to you if you are able to snag something, but “chasing the surge” is becoming a waste of time. IMO
