Claire Headley calls for Peaceful Protests against Scientology. But she omits to tell viewers her collaborator on a weekly podcast will Doxx and Stalk you online if you do! As happened to me!

Headley appears on the Tony Ortega podcast "Group Therapy" alongside another "ex" Scientologist.

On the 23rd April this year that other-contributor on that podcast sought me out on another online platform, posted a Hate-website about me, giving my name, my location, my occupation and parts of my private medical record that were obtained illegally, and revealed the work I do helping survivors of cults.

In the interview Headley describes Scientology as "an abusive and bullying cult" (which it is) but people close to her are behaving as if they have not left, with the entitlement, grandiosity and the dissociation with decency of an OTVIII.

Headley claims the recent Speedrun phenomena will be used by Scientology to inhibit legitimate protesting but she neglects to state that people she works with are also doing that, by using scientology Fair Game practices against legitmate protestors and people working in-the-field to satisfy their unhinged urges.

If Claire Headly wishes to call for Peaceful Protest, might she at least warn people that someone she regularly associates with is very likely to Doxx and Stalk those doing so.

The Family Survival Trust - My regret in helping them

The first organisation I reached out to when I had cult problems was the Family Survival Trust. I spoke to a chap who manned the phones who I won't name (but many will know), who was so helpful and supportive - a calming voice when my life was being turned upside-down by a particular pernicious and vicious cult.

I later found out he left because of disagreements with Trustees & the Board, and I thought nothing of it.

I have supported the Family Survival Trust for many years. I have directed survivors to them. I introduced a certain YouTuber (who thinks he has left Scientology) to them.

I have sent reports to their Trustees from court-rooms and competing INFORM seminars. I have given them money and helped them fundraise. I even introduced the speaker who spoke at a recent FST event to them. I have introduced them to documentary makers who have featured them in international cult documentaries.

I have "gone to bat" for Trustees of the FST when they have had their reputation smeared online. I have made recommnedations that helped them meet influential people who could aid in raising awareness for their cause. I have even filed multiple reports to the Police when a certain east-european cult has threatened a Trustee.

But I never recieved any direct help. When I pleaded with their Trustee to connect with someone who needed help they refused. In fact, people who have been refused help by the FST have been sent to me!

When I have raised a serious issue with them, having been promised a meeting, the offer then subsequently withdrawn, I was asked to provide information which would be passed straight onto people who have been involved in the unethical processing of personal-information, which has ended up online, or been collected into datasets about active UK cult-member with their names & addresses. (I know this because I was asked to collate this data - until I was told its purpose, to collect active UK scientologists addresses, which I then reported to the ICO)

Recently a number of people have separately raised concerns with me about the Family Survival Trust. One described it as having its own Cult problems. Another compared it to the Cult Awareness Network whose assets now belong to the Church of Scientology.

So this post is a decree to myself. I shall no longer support a corrupt organisation that does not have the interests of survivors at heart. If the last stage of leaving a cult is to individuate - then I am now no longer in the shadow of this group.

But I also want to know about your experiences with the Family Survival Trust, especially where your personal data has been abused, or when your time has been taken up for their bidding.

Are there other groups that suppose to support survivors as bad as the Family Survival Trust?

Share your thoughts.

Mother Jones' Anna Merlan writes about Scientology Fair Game practices but interviews Alexander Barnes-Ross who himself has endorsed the Doxxing of UK-based Activists and even tried to have them fired!

Sad to see Mother Jones' Anna Merlan fall for Apostate Alex's schtick of being a Cult activist when he himself has instigated two investigations by two organisations here in the UK that represent Cult Survivors into harassment and doxxing of survivors of abuse by Cults by people in his circle, and even participated in by Apostate Alex himself. Dear oh dear.

Since going public about this harassment last month the "anti" Scientology subreddit that has been the hub for organised-harassment of Cult Survivors (frequented by Apostate Alex, Chris Shelton and regular contributors to Tony Ortega) has barely had any activity - despite the same number of weekly views. Funny that! More news SOON!

Despite attempts by Leah Remini and other "ex" Scientologists to "influence" Gen Z -- Gen Z is just now learning about Scientology and CNN is still covering this interest on their homepage!

Yesterday a certain "ex" Scientology subreddit claimed speedrunners in Seattle have been charged after arrests were made on Saturday - but there is no source that confirms this.

Given that subreddit is frequented by multiple contributors to Tony Ortega, and the subreddit's moderators have consented to the doxxing of activists using material published by Scientology - should anyone be listening to "ex" Scientologists who feel compelled to tell those who never joined a cult how to conduct themselves?

Tell me, if the Scientology Speedruns were not happening, would this interview have taken place? Ladies & Gentleman, I give you Nicky Gordo (a good catholic boy) and Scientologist Richard Bell.

Someone tell me this is fake! Because if its not, those Speedruns have been worth it!

A dyed-in-the-wool L Ron believer vs a fella who is prepared for this debate.

Today the Guardian's Isaaq Tomkins interviews Apostate Alex, or Alexander Barnes Ross, and introduces him as having "led protests against Scientology in the UK". This is only part of the story.

As someone who worked with Barnes Ross since 2023, I stepped back this year after it became apparent that Barnes Ross was happiliy associating with and seeking approval from a small closed-knit subreddit that has doxxed me multiple times. Additionally moderators claimed it was my fault I was doxxed, or denied it has even happened. *rolls eyes*

Some of these people involved are current contributors to Tony Ortega.

So let's have some honesty please when describing Alexander Barnes Ross, and add that he still uses Scientology practices (Ethics Reports for example), and like some other "ex" scientologists is incapable of addressing his past failings, or as some call them "shameful behaviours".

And let's not ask what is Alexander Barnes Ross doing with current Scientology members' UK addresses!

Three weeks ago 10 News Australia covered the case of a Cult harassing an ex-member. So it came as a surprise to see a piece today where they platform Cult Apologist Bernard Doherty.

Doherty who speaks in the interests of abusive and destructive cults has signed a submission to the Victoria Government (Australia) Inquiry into cults that states the Inquiry may be..

>intended as a public shaming exercise against a series of small religious groups some of whose practices—while not illegal—run counter to prevailing social norms and have proved unpopular with sectors of the wider Victorian body politic (source)

Doherty has bylines on a Cult Apologist website run by Massimo Introvigne who notably has defended the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light cult in Crewe raided last week by 500 Police "to investigate allegations of sexual abuse, forced marriage and modern slavery".

Scientology have a history of this. In October 2023 a representative of INFORM spoke on behalf of the Cult of Scientology on BBC Radio 5 - when I asked his person if they had spoken to any ex-members of Scientology he told me he had only ever spoken to "independent" scientologists but was eager to increase his sample size for his studies.

There is a history of local-news becoming unwitting defenders of Modern Slavery practices, but 10 News Australia is a national programme; in December 2021 Lighthouse International Group leader Paul Waugh appeared on ITV Central News West calling for survivors of abuse by his cult to lose their anonymity so he could abuse them further. Months later the Editor of ITV Central News wrote to me to apologise. Oh dear.

Perhaps next time 10 News Australia will interview a Survivor of Scientology who has been harassed by them? They do exist you know. *facepalm*

We wait to see if these individuals will be charged with .... i don't know... something?

(p.s. I don't get why they're wheeling out clips of Leah Remini - I'm sure none of these kids have heard of her)

This is NOT an endorsement - I respect the right for people to demonstrate and I expect them to do so in a way that they are informed of the risks - but it does seem that there are people who think the sun shines out of Leah Remini's ass who take great umbrage at the sharing of news-reports on "Hundreds of teens" outside a Scientology Cult's building. (I was subjected to harassment last week on r/cults by people doing just that)

A number of "ex" Scientologists are also feeling entitled to tell people who never joined a Cult what-is-and-is-not-acceptable (if they're no longer a cultist why do they instruct others what is acceptable or "good" to do?).

As far as I can tell, at this point few arrests have been made, specifically for anti-social behaviour which... happens and the Police act - the TV reports are including in their reports legal advice, which is welcome.

I see Apostate Alex (who has failed to get more than a few dozen people at his events) is trying to capitalise on this grassroots phenomena doing his "Hello fellow kids" schtick - what he does not tell his audience is how he is still in the habit of collecting Ethics Reports and using those against demonstrators. Funny that.

One "ex" scientologist has, on another subreddit, taken a demonstrator for task for not having any empathy -- this same "ex" scientologist doxxed me recently and made public some of the work I do helping survivors of cults. And I thought americans didn't do irony.

I have been a supporter for the Family Survival Trust since I became aware of them. I have signposted survivors to them. I have supported and promoted events they ran of my own accord. I have tried my best to support them and connect them with interested parties. But in the past few weeks I have become aware of corruption and failure of governance in the charity. Others have told me of their concerns. Something is rotten at the FST. Cult Survivors deserve better.

A reminder from the UK Charity Governance Code:

Trustees take responsibility for, and invest the necessary time and care,in understanding the charity, their responsibilities and legal duties.

You know it’s working when:

  1. Trustees understand their role and are committed to doing a good job, ensuring continuous learning and sufficient time for their responsibilities.
  2. Trustees have a good understanding of the charity’s governing document, purposes and how the charity delivers public benefit.
  3. Trustees have an up-to-date understanding of how charity law and wider regulation relate to their charity’s work.
  4. Trustees uphold and promote standards of good governance, and work to ensure that the role of the board is understood and valued throughout the charity.
  5. Trustees identify and manage conflicts of interest, making sure the charity and its aims are put first in decision making.

Back in the day, officials of the Family Survival Trust would call out those maleficent practitioners masquerading as acting in the interests of Survivors when actually leading them to harm. How times change.

(See previous posts for details. This problem is not going to just go away)
