Just became a member, but I'm on Podbean...

I use Podbean, and it's not clear whether or how I can access the extras.

Does anyone know if this is possible; and if not, what alternate free podcasting app would you recommend?

Non-German with some questions about pension points

I'm an EU citizen resident in Germany, married to a German, four children together. I think I have a basic knowledge of the pension system -- "points", and so forth. Still, a couple of questions:

  1. Our kids were born in Germany, and all four have Abiturs from a Germany gymnasium. However, when the kids were small we moved around a lot (because my job took me to different countries). So the kids were raised partly in Germany, partly outside.

Normally my wife would get 12 points (Rentepunkte) for having four kids. Does the moving around affect this? and if so, how?

  1. My wife went to university. I'm told that you can pick up a few points for university or technical school -- one person said, 0.75 points per year, up to a maximum of three years. But I have not been able to find a cite for this. Can anyone confirm?

Many thanks in advance!

German public pensions (GRV) -- Two quick questions

I'm an EU citizen resident in Germany, married to a German, four children together. I think I have a basic knowledge of the pension system -- "points", and so forth. Still, a couple of questions:

  1. My wife and I have four children together. My understanding is that this gives us an additional 12 points (3 per child) which can be divided between us by agreement. My question: do these points count towards vesting? Or must we still work a minimum of five years in order to vest in the system?

  2. My wife works part-time: 30 hours per week. Does this part-time work count towards vesting? Meaning, if she stays in the job for at least 5 years, she'll be entitled to a pension? Or do only full-time jobs count towards vesting?

Many thanks in advance!
