how do i support someone through recovery?

my husband has struggled with this since i met him, i’ve struggled with other addictions before so i know how to help him as far as that goes. i know he loves me and i understand it’s a problem he’s had since before he met me

i know addictions thrive on insecurity and so he will remain stuck as long as he keeps feeling bad about himself, and i know it’s something he wants to remove from his life but he’s struggling — and it’s embarrassing for him! he can’t talk to anyone about it

what can i do to support him?

it really hurts my feelings and makes me sad that he has this issue, but i know that i married him for who he is as a person and he is so much more than his addiction, so i need to help him 😕

What does 'Closed (No Documents Sent)' mean?

Hi. :) I've visited the US five times now on a tourist visa, been taken to secondary twice as a result of my age at the time. I filed a foia (CBP) as a few months ago my husband filed an I-130 consular application for me and I wanted to keep all my records close to me but I got this response sent to me 'Closed (No Documents Sent)'. There's no closed notice, explanation, just that. I submitted my I-94 no, and a scan of my passport. I'm entering the US soon and am worried they don't have a record of me since applying for my green card. Any help?

Why do people on ESTA/B1B2 not just do Consular?

I'm genuinely curious as the K1/ visa is basically the exact same thing but offers you more protections? You file your I-129f, get a visa to enter the USA, then adjust rather than entering on a tourist visa and adjusting anyways. Then you have the CR-1/IR-1 which basically grants you the ability to do anything in the USA upon arrival.

Because of this I don't understand the outrage regarding the DHS statement 'People on tourist visas must go home for consular processing.' That seems perfectly fair to me? There's a few different routes and visas that if correctly utilised would process perfectly quickly. ( But now we have a consular pause while AOS just breezes along /: ) What other countries allow people to enter as tourists and become permanent residents/citizens efficiently? Why is it considered a 'human rights violation' to go back home to and apply through your countries consulate? I seriously don't understand it. I get AOS as a route for those who study and work in the USA, or have an immediate relative that is working there/seriously unwell (for example, spouse and children). But for tourists with partners or people's parents?? You can afford to wait and I'm saying this as a consular beneficiary, also.

I don't agree with everything this current admin do but I did think that statement was perfectly fair as nobody should be entering the USA as a tourist, overstaying, illegally working, obtaining DUI's and just get to live there! It sucks being separated from your partner or your family and seeing people like this just gloat about how they got approved quickly and how that wait was SO hard on them. I seriously don't understand it and I don't understand why it's so 'taboo' to call this out?

I want for everyone with a relative in the USA to be able to come and live with them, but because of routes like AOS being abused by those on tourist visas, those relatives can't even visit! They can't get approved for a visa to visit because the government thinks they will overstay and adjust.. but they let people do that anyways?

Please hear me out here.. I don't hate AOS as a process, I believe it is there for those it's intended to be there for, I'm just tired of the abuse of the system and those who aren't in the USA struggling as a result.
