Part of me unironically thinks that one aspect of my personal identity will never be explored unless I have at least one tattoo.

Something about my character customization loadout is limited by the lack of decal options. 😂🙄 (I'm not a nerd. Totally not a nerd, you guys. I have definitely have friends. )

I'm not even sure which aspect. Like, I have no idea what getting a tattoo could possibly explore. I also don't really know why not having a tattoo leaves that unexplored. It's not like individuality and creativity can't be explored other ways.

In any event, I'm fairly certain that until I explore [my name] + Tattoo, my evolution won't be complete.

Inner thigh chafing may be the biggest backhanded compliment that weight loss has to offer.

I've been down this road before.

Unfortunately, I was a bit of a chubster. Lost a bunch of weight. Then the pandemic happened and I put it all back on and then some. Now I'm losing the weight again, and I'm fairly happy with my progress.

It's annoying that as I lose weight, the fat on my butt and thighs disappears and creates more movement as I walk around. The underwear I use is a little bit of a factor, but less than you'd expect.

The only solution is to lose more weight!

IDL How we've spent the last 6 years seeing that an easy 75% of society is on the verge of a mental breakdown at any given time, but the only change I've seen in the mental health conversation is the number of Better Help ads.

Seriously. We just watched, and continue to watch, as the people around us collectively lose their crap over the last 6 years. Whether it's over political stuff. Money. Dating. Travel. Education. If you can think of it, someone is probably losing their already tenuous grasp on reality over it.

And yet somehow... even though we SEE IT HAPPENING. Even though we know that most of the people around us are a big bowl of crazy flakes. WE SEE THE REAL WORLD IMPACT OF LETTING A NUTCASE CONTINUE ON BEING A NUTCASE. Society is barely doing a frickin thing about it.

If anything, we've ramped up the pressure. The worst part of it is that we all know that small, manageable lifestyle changes would make a huge difference for people. Hardly anyone is talking about that though. They certainly aren't supporting each other in making those changes.

The only difference between now and before the pandemic is that I see more ads from online therapy subscription services.

Good lord...

Everybody likes to talk about how hard our ancestors would cringe if they saw modern society, but I think they underestimate how cute it is when pets stick their heads out of car windows in traffic.

When Bill Gates serves on jury duty, he would get paid the same $9 per day that I would.

If you ever get to thinking you’re someone important; serve in our court system.

ELI5: What exactly is a pulley/pulley system doing that creates a mechanical advantage?

I find the concept of a 3:1 and 5:1 pulley system absolutely mind boggling.

Obviously, the force is all being handled by the same piece of rope, but somehow it becomes easier to pull heavy things by running more rope through a bunch of pulleys.

I understand that single pulleys work by changing the direction that force needs to be applied.

How on Earth does doing that multiple times make things easier to pull?

33 years on Earth, 25 of them spent gaming, but I can’t think of a single one that I was actually good at.

Shit, even RuneScape. I’ve only ever been passibly alright at a few games 😂🤷🏽‍♂️

The Moron's Dilemma: When you don't understand what the other person is talking about and you can't decide whether to get aggressive with the hope they don't know what they're talking about either.
