i20 Sportz IVT 2026 — Very Poor Headlight Throw. What Are My Options?
Recently bought an i20 Sportz IVT and took it on the highway for the first time. I was honestly quite disappointed with the headlights. the throw is very poor, and at night I could barely see the road properly with people blinding me from opposite.
For those who may not know, the Sportz trim comes with a halogen headlight setup, and the current-gen i20 also doesn't seem to have a provision for fog lamps.
I got a feedback call from the showroom and mentioned this issue. They basically said, “That's how it comes.” When I asked about improving the setup, they suggested installing an HID kit, genuine Hyundai accessory costing around ₹10k.
I've also seen people online recommending OSRAM 50W 4200K LED bulbs.
My main concern is the reflector housing. Since it's designed for halogen bulbs, would installing an LED bulb cause scattering/glare or a poor beam pattern? I don't want to blind oncoming traffic or end up with a fancy looking but actually worse setup.
I'm looking for a simple and practical solution, not anything expensive.
For those who have an i20 Sportz or a similar halogen reflector setup:
What bulb/upgrade are you using?
Is the OSRAM 50W 4200K LED a good option?
Has anyone tried the Hyundai HID kit?
Would a better halogen bulb be a safer/better option than LED in this reflector housing?
Would really appreciate suggestions from people who have actually upgraded their i20 headlights.
