Severe Eye strain for over a year
M23.I have been dealing with severe eye strain for about a year. My job requires me to sit in front of a computer all day, and the symptoms have become so bad that they are affecting my daily life. After work, I often need to take a nap because I feel completely exhausted and unable to do much else. Simply can’t function
One of the worst times is after looking at a computer up close all day and then driving home. Driving seems to make the symptoms even worse.
I’ve also noticed that stress makes everything much worse. When I’m stressed, I focus too much on my eyes and the symptoms become very intense. Interestingly, I recently had a stomach bug for about a week, and because my attention was focused on being sick instead of my eyes, my eye symptoms did not feel nearly as severe.
I cannot simply change jobs because I need to support my family.
I have already seen four regular eye doctors, and they all told me that my eyes look healthy and that my vision is good. I also saw a neuro-ophthalmologist who recommended vision therapy. I have been doing vision therapy for about two months, but unfortunately I have not noticed any improvement
This is having a major impact on my quality of life, and I would really appreciate any advice about what else I could look into or what direction I should take next.
