Choices

You encounter a young boy on his own. He doesn’t go to school so you offer a deal; in exchange for helping around the farm he can stay with you and get an education.

If he’s white he bunks in the loft with your daughter inside the house and you go to some lengths to adopt him. He wants to become a doctor and you encourage him in every way.

If he’s black he sleeps in the soddy. He also wants to become a doctor and when he becomes discouraged you essentially say yeah, well, that’s how it is and buy him a ticket on the stage.

What’s the message Charles?

Diagnosed

When I was a kid my mom used to call me “jut butt”. The family teasing was pretty constant because my butt stuck out.

I’m 62 and was diagnosed with spina bifida occulta today. I’d never even heard of it and only saw the doctor for random leg weakness. I don’t have pain but as I age my legs just occasionally decide to not work well. Life is crazy.

I’m rewatching

Season 2, the Faith episode. I’ve always thought Master Raymond was from the future. Here’s my thought. He took the baby because she was going to die and he *had* to make sure the baby lived because Fanny is his ancestor. He’s always called Claire Madonna because she’s his gggwhatever mother. I know this is a day late and a dollar short but just a thought.

▲ 3 r/Hair

Hello. My daughter (24) spent winter and early spring in severe depression. She’s gotten treatment and is starting to feel better.

She has gorgeous long 2C hair that has become extremely, tightly matted. There is one salon near us that could help, but at $100 an hour we can’t afford it.

I volunteered to help, I’ve watched videos and am prepared. I’m thinking 1 - 2 hours a day for as long as it takes. Can anyone direct me to a product/products that I should use to tackle this? I’m very patient and really want to help her. If she has to shave her head it will be a blow to her healing that I’d rather not have happen.

Thank you!
