Should I get a second driving instructor before my test?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice about my driving lessons.
I started lessons in December last year, and my test is booked for the 2nd week of October. However, I’ve been having a lot of issues with consistency and I’m not sure whether I should stick with my current instructor or get a second one.

From the last week of March to the first week of June, I wasn’t available. Before that, I was actually not working and was free most days, so I had full flexibility for lessons. When I came back, the lessons were cancelled, and shortly after that I had to go away again for about 10 days. Now that I’m back and ready to continue, my instructor has told me he will be away for 2 weeks.

Even when I am having lessons, I usually only get about 1.5 hours per week, and it hasn’t been consistent enough to build proper progress due to all the gaps and cancellations.

I’ve also asked before if there was any extra availability, but there wasn’t.

Because of all this, my learning has been very stop-start since I started in December, and I’m worried I won’t be ready in time for my test.

I’m considering getting a second instructor just to get more practice and consistency, but I’m not sure if that’s normal or if it could cause issues.

Would you recommend sticking with one instructor or getting a second one in this situation?
Any advice would really help 🙏

I love my engagement ring, but should I keep the blue diamond or switch to a white diamond? 🥹

I’ve been going back and forth about my engagement ring and would really love some honest opinion and advice.

My fiancé proposed with a ring that has a blue diamond center stone. I actually think it’s beautiful and I do love it, but it’s not what I usually picture when I think of an engagement ring. Lately I’ve been wondering if I should keep it as it is or change the center stone to a classic white diamond.

There’s a bit of backstory to it. A few years ago, we were at a museum and saw a huge blue diamond on display. I remember telling him how stunning it was and saying I’d love something like that one day I meant it more as a jewelry preference,
(not necessarily as an engagement ring). I think he took that more literally than I meant it, because he ended up basing my ring on that. When I asked him, he said he would have chosen a classic diamond if he thought that’s what I really wanted—it’s just that he believed I liked the blue stone, and he loves what he picks for me regardless.

What makes this harder is that he spent almost two years finding it, and he really put a lot of thought into it. I genuinely love the design, but I sometimes catch myself wondering if I’ll regret not going with something more traditional, especially since most engagement rings I see are white diamonds in gold bands. Our wedding bands will be classic gold.

Another part of this is that the ring is also too big on me, so it needs to be resized anyway. That’s why I started thinking… while it’s being adjusted, should I also consider changing the center stone, or just leave it as it is?

I’m also showing both versions (the actual ring and what it would look like with a white diamond) to compare.

Has anyone been in a similar situation with a non-traditional engagement ring? Did you end up loving it more over time, or wish you had gone more classic?

I feel a bit guilty even thinking about changing it because of the story behind it, but I’d really appreciate hearing other people’s experience.
