Wanting to go into optometry but not wearing glasses

This might be a silly worry of mine but I’m worried that since I don’t wear glasses I won’t be relatable enough for the patients I’ll eventually see. Also, I just feel like I already have less experience than everyone else since most people pursuing optometry wear glasses. I think optometry is a career I can really see myself going into, but this is just food for thought.

Is having friends luck at this point???

I genuinely feel like nowadays no one wants to be friends. For context I’m a college student and can’t seem to make friends. My college is small and campus presence isn’t big, most people just go home after classes, to make things worse I am also a commuter.

At the beginning of the semester I tried hard to talk to a lot of people, people who sat beside me or in my labs but its always just small talk or talk about school. I mean sure I say hi to them when I see them but it never comes to a point where I can see them outside of school. Everyone already seems to have friends or stuck with their friends from high school.

So it seems to me that if they’re lucky enough to have found close friends in the earlier stages of their lives and still keep in touch, thats the sole reason to why many people still have friends.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Marker job status

Okay so I applied for a Marker job a few weeks ago and the deadline was around June 10th. Its for a summer course that has probably already started. The position status still says in progress but I haven’t received anything. Im guessing I wasn’t selected???…

Does anyone know anything about this or has been selected for this position?

Thoughts on asians who make jokes

I am Chinese American and I have chinese american friends or even mixed asians who make jokes about Chinese related topics.

They will make jokes about eating dogs or cats to other people or when they see something Chinese they start making sounds that kind of seem like theyre mocking the Chinese language.

I genuinely don’t find it funny at all and even think it’s rude. I tell them to stop but they never seem too. And I never see this happening with people who are fobs, only asian Americans.

Has anyone taken either of these courses? Which one is harder? The course description for human reproductive biology says there might be group projects or presentations.
