I’m an international applicant for a Master’s program at TU Dresden, and I’m genuinely frustrated with how unclear and delayed the admission process has been.
I applied months ago, and every time I contact the ServiceCenterStudium, I receive the same generic response: my application is under faculty review due to the aptitude assessment procedure, and I should wait longer.
First, I was told to contact them again at the beginning of August if I hadn’t received a decision. Now, I’ve been told to wait until the middle of August before following up again.
I completely understand that universities receive a large number of applications, and I appreciate that the faculty needs time to evaluate candidates properly. But for international students, this delay is not just an inconvenience — it affects visa appointments, blocked accounts, education loans, accommodation, flights, and the entire relocation process.
What makes it more stressful is that TU Dresden acknowledges the visa situation in their email, yet says they cannot speed up the internal process. So we are left waiting indefinitely, with no tentative timeline for when results will actually be announced.
I already have an admission offer from another German university, and now I’m seriously considering whether I should proceed with that visa application instead of waiting for TU Dresden, even though TU Dresden is my preferred choice.
Is anyone else in the same situation with TU Dresden Master’s admissions? Have you received any update, aptitude assessment email, or admission letter yet?
At this point, the waiting feels less like patience and more like being stuck in complete uncertainty.
