How do I fix this communal door latch/lock?
Hello all,
I live in an old tenement in Scotland and there’s an issue with the latch of the communal door.
I’m looking at sorting it with my neighbours but want to make sure the right solution is provided by any locksmith we hire.
From the video, what would you say is wrong with the latch? It seems to just come through the bit in the door frame. Does it need a whole new lock etc or just certain parts?

I did the in tray assessment last Wednesday. Not long ago, I know, but it starting to wonder if anyone else has received offers following completion of all assessments? I’m at the constant checking stage now!
