Online MA in historical linguistics

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to find an online, part-time MA in Historical Linguistics, or a more general Linguistics MA with the option to specialise in Historical Linguistics.

Anyone know if this is possible? European would be nice, but anywhere really.

Thanks!

Youtube A1-B2?

Hi guys,

Ok, I have a very specific request and hope it's not too forward to ask.

There are some excellent resources for other languages of full courses, covering everything from A1 to B1/2, on youtube. They are done in the target language from the start.

Is there anything similar in German? I've found lots of of those Tiktok type really handsome people but the lessons are all over the place. Are there are any really good courses out there? I don't mind paying.

Danke!

Doing historical research as a amateur

Apologies if this isn't the right place or has been answered before. I couldn't find anything.

As an amateur interested in a particular topic, in my case Anna Komnene, what advice would professional historians have for how to approach and organise research?

I have quite a few books and I've been trying to compile a reading list from their bibliographies. I don't have access to journals, but it seems some of them are free.

There are lots of youtube videos but most seem pretty high-level.

If a professional historian had to quickly learn about something outside their main area, how do you go about it?

Thanks!

High school classical languages in Italy

Hi everyone,

Recently I've encountered some graduate students from Italy. Their language skills in both Greek and Latin were remarkable.

They said they they left high-school with very solid foundations in both languages.

Does anyone have any idea what they're studying? Are there curricula available?

Thanks!
