As I rewatch episodes, I really miss a couple of characters that I think had great potential but were wasted.

1. Rebecca James. I loved how smart and dignified she was. I don’t think she had enough “edginess” for the writers, so they didn’t know what to do with her.
2. Det. Robert Parker. He was a very fresh face and I liked the interaction between him and Brackenreid. His death was abrupt and not necessary to advance the story.

I just finished rewatching “Dead End Street.” It’s my favorite episode and the one that got me hooked on Murdoch. It’s a masterpiece and highlights everything that made Murdoch Mysteries such a great show. The scene in the station house when they finally figure out how to communicate with the woman with autism was handled masterfully. I love the subtle change in her expression when she realizes that they understand her.

I work in a cubicle that is fully visible to anyone who walks by. Sometimes I get a little sleepy at work, but since I have no privacy I can’t sleep at my desk. So I will go to the restroom, sit in a stall and catch a few winks of sleep. It’s usually only 5-10 minutes and that’s enough to refresh me to continue my day.
