Antique Finish gone wrong?

I applied dark brown antique to raw veg tan for maybe 10 seconds, then wiped and wiped and wiped with various materials, even tried saddle soap now, and it won't come out. Bummed to learn this lesson after hours of crafting, so it goes...

What can I do now? And what can I do next time so the antique doesn't bleed onto the rest of the piece?

Edit: My hunch -- it was not fully dry after tooling 15 minutes prior... could I dye it now or tomorrow (I only have red) to save the appearance?

Thanks!

Baseball gloves!

Hello hobbyists! :)

I offered to redo my friend's baseball glove, which had some laces rip during our last game. Can I make my own laces with raw veg-tan at home? I keep reading Rawlings and lace kit websites say not to use it, and opt for their "allum tan" instead of veg.

Something about not withstanding sweat, weather, and force. What about if I treat with my leather balm, wax, oil, etc?

Has anyone done this before? I'd like to use what I already own, but if it just won't withstand the game play, I'll tell him he needs to buy a lace kit. Thanks!

Does this sewing machine stand a chance?

This little number at Costco caught my attention. Says it is heavy duty (included an image of sewing through many layers of denim).

Any chance it could be rigged to sew small leather items such as bags, wallets, etc.? If so, what leather weight do ya reckon it can take?

I've heard there is a way to set tension and use strong needles to rig regular machines. (Not looking to spend $2k, I'm a beginner!) Please let me know if you have done that before. :)

Got this from Springfield Leather's scrap bag. Have no clue what animal this is / or print it is imitating.
