How do you stop getting unnecessary speech referrals?

I am a currently a CF in a public elementary school in Texas. My school constantly get MTSS (referrals) for sped services from parents and teachers. Sometimes they’re warranted and I accept the referral, but other times the concern is not appropriate due to developmental milestones. Whenever I attempt to explain that to parents/teachers they push back. What can I say to better explain why evaluating would not be appropriate?Should I have some sort of print out to give to them? Any help is appreciated.

In laws who wear hijab except me

Salam everyone. I (26F) am talking to a (29M) with the intention of marriage. So far, I feel it’s going in the right direction.

However, the man has 3 sisters who wear hijab, including his mother. His cousins don’t all wear it.

I am not a hijabi, but I have the intention to one day wear it iA. However, as of now, I don’t foresee that happening anytime soon. I feel slightly insecure about the idea of being the only non hijabi, and worry his family may judge me for it.

I’ve brought the topic of hijab up to the man and he said it is my choice and that he’d never push it onto me, and that his family feels the same way.

I guess I’m just seeking advice from anyone who’s been in a similar situation, and how it went. Did your in laws ever pressure you to wear it? Did they ever make comments about it?

My (26F) best friend’s brother (26M) used to have feelings for me years ago and now his wife (22F) hates me.

I (26F) have known my friend (26M) since we were in middle school. We are family friends and his sister is one of my best friends. Four years ago, he admitted he had feelings for me but I immediately shut it down. He was bummed about it, but we both agreed to still be friends and move on from it. We took a 6 month break from seeing each other to let the dust settle, and once we came back, things were fine.

Flash forward to two years ago, he meets his now wife (22F). I was invited to the wedding by my best friend/grooms side’s parents. At the wedding, the bride and her family were not welcoming towards me (ignoring me when I said hi, telling me to leave, shoulder checking me, blocking my view on the dance floor.) The groom apologized to me at his own wedding at the end of the night because I ended up telling his father about what was going on. Personally, I dont think the groom previously having feelings for me is that big of a deal given that nothing ever came from him it, and it happened four years ago.

I had no idea the bride felt this strongly about me, otherwise I wouldn’t have gone to the wedding. The bride blocked me on all social media platforms after the wedding, and I’ve removed the groom on all socials.

What would you do if you were in my situation? I’m not someone who ever gets involved in drama, so I feel completely in over my head. TIA!

Offered lower salary than job posting

Hi, everyone. Recently applied for a CF position in the schools, and got an offer.

However, on the job posting, it stated the minimum salary would be ~ $70,000. When I opened the official offer letter, they offered a salary of $53,000.

The districts compensation manual states that CFs make a minimum of $70k and so did the job posting itself.

For reference, I worked as an SLPA in another district and made $64k/year, so this is a real disappointment.

Im really disappointed in the offer. I left a voicemail for the districts HR department and am waiting to hear back. I really want the job but can’t justify accepting a salary that’s significantly lower than originally advertised. Anyone have any advice on what to say or do? Is it normal to be offered so much lower than the minimum salary?
