Update on the dead GTX 580 Classified. The problem of the no voltages has in a little circuit on the center of the VRM .. I think that circuits generated the signal to Enable the main PWM Controller that when the NVVDD is on and working enables the secondary pwm controller …

Pretty sure that little circuit is related to some protection.. so injecting 1V on the base of the NPN transistor enabled the circuit and the gpu is now outputting image ..

But it has artifacts and testing with the mats reported errors on the Channel A.. I will try a BGA on the Channel A memory chips..

Recently added to my collection, one of my favorites cards.. The expansion slot for an additional SGRAM stick is one of features I wish all GPUs keep it .

Soo.. I have this EVGA 580 Classified , that is dead.. has the 5V, 3.3V but no 1.8, PEX or other voltages..

I can’t find any schematic or boardview for the board. I checked that the PEX had no VIN and doing the reverse path I end up in the FBVDD circuit , the controller for the fbvdd had no enable .. so to test I injected 1.8V on the enable .. and the PEX and FBVDD comes up .. but no main voltage (NVVDD) ..
The PCB has no shorts at all..

I think the what enables the main and the FBVDD(1.8) on this board is faulty .. any tips on what to check next ?

This is my retro desk, from time to time I change the setup to run for a time other system. This one is one of my favorite a complete Dual CPU with 2 Dual Opteron 275, FX4500 on a Asus Server K8 Board inside this Custom Wooden RetroMod case.
The Keyboard and Mouse are a Wireless PS/2 , Two Creative Speakers with an Amplified Subwoofer ..
Really cool setup , quite good performance to run Driver Parallel Lines and other games for the same time.
