The confusingly-named Nvidia GeForce4 MX 4000 (a PixelView in this case)

The only model in the GeForce4 line-up that mixes the 4-digit scheme used by real (Kelvin architecture) GPUs with the "MX" term used by "improved Celsius" GPUs.

For those unfamiliar with Nvidia's underhanded marketing tactics: of course it's an "improved Celsius" with no DX8.0 support.

EVGA GeForce4 Ti 4600 ACS 2 128-A4-NV83-A1

EVGA ACS2- The first GPU to use heatpipes.

EVGA ushered in the ACS^(2), which was being strapped to the GeForce4 Ti 4600. ACS^(2) iterated on the original by adding memory coverage, as well as another industry first: heatpipes. While the blower fan on the MX 440 may not have been entirely necessary (passive versions of the card were made available at the time), a more than doubling of performance on a chip like the Ti 4600 could warrant the extra cooling help.

EVGA also ran a contest to trade in a GeForce4 ACS for "EVGA Bucks" in 2017: https://web.archive.org/web/20201120011033/https://www.evga.com/articles/01177/evga-christmas-miracle/

EVGA GeForce4 MX 440 ACS Cooler 064-A4-NV70-S1

EVGA GeForce4 MX 440 ACS Cooler 064-A4-NV70-S1

First EVGA "ACS" Cooler Design (from EVGA):

Remember the EVGA GeForce4 MX 440? Back then was when EVGA first introduced ACS (the Asymmetric Cooling System), it was the first serious attempt to improve the way cooling devices for video cards were made and employed. ACS was designed in a new, efficient manner; with a much larger heat sink with far more surface area to allow for much better heat dissipation; and the fan was placed off center from the GPU so as to allow it to be better protected from extreme temperatures and to allow it to create a much more efficient air flow through the entire unit. In other words, the first "blower" style cooler on a graphics card!

ATI Mach64 VT2 PCI 2MB DRAM (again!)

A very, very similar card to yesterday's; two years newer, but a very slight board revision update, all memory chips are now soldered (still 2MB DRAM but now from LG), still a Mach 64 VT2 -- but now manufactured/packaged in Malta (likely at STMicroelectronics) instead of Korea. As a 2MB VGA card in 1998 (bios copyright), this must have been a pull from a server or a very low end 800x600 computer.

ATI Mach64 VT2 PCI 2MB DRAM

Two memory chips socketed. Likely sold as "ATI Video Xpression". The same board layout was later used for the first Rage generations, which was Mach64-based and pin-compatible.

9800 GTX+ Zone Edition

Paired it with an e8500@4.113ghz (60 fps in crysis!*) Unfortunately when i bought it second hand the previous owner didn't have the og box, but all of the documentation survived (including the receipt lmao). Ignore the paper wrapped with duct tape, I dont want the cooler fins to dig into the rubber. The zip ties around the pipes are there just in case, the aio itself hasn't leaked yet. But i would really want to refurbish the loop someday with fresh tubes and fluid. The card runs very cool in comparison to other 9800gtx+ cards, but i feel like it could still use a repaste at some point.

* mixture of medium and high @1080p

HIS R7 260X iPower IceQ X² 2GB — still works größe en 2026

est von un previous owner

4 vram chips on the PCB , 128bit memory width , otherwise a typical R9 270 2GB has 8 vram chips on the PCB which provides 256bit memory width
