Hello Reddit, I picked up a canoe for the right price recently and I do have a bit of time on my hands and have a little experience working in auto body repair and wanted to give this a try. I’m not too Knolage able about things that go in the water so help would be appreciated. The canoe is fibreglass and already has a repair but the repair is failing and started to leak so I wanted to give it a fresh repair. The current repair goes about two feet back and right up the front of the boat and the patch has started to form holes and cracks that leak. My plan was I would remove and put on a full new patch to the best of my abilities. I’m told this isn’t much different then putting on fibreglass mesh and bondo on but a canoe is a bit different then a truck. Info on this specific thing has been hard to find or at least fully understand but the amount I understand goes as:

First with a chisel and high grit sand paper and break away the old repair and work on getting the old mesh off. Any tips would be appreciated.

Second with a high grit wet sand paper I’ll sand right up to the base material getting out high spots, making it smooth and getting off the last of the adhesive also making the material prepped for the adhesive.

Third I’ll prep my mesh by just forming it to the general shape of the boat. And I should take note to reinforce the front bottom for anything I might hit in the water like a rock or land.

Fourth I’ll lay down a good layer of adhesive (adhesive recommendations would be appreciated) then press the mesh fully in to the adhesive and let dry for 20 minutes.

Fifth I’ll lay down another coat of adhesive and work to blend the edges to the base material to maximize how well the boat moves through water.

Then last is part of just a service I want to apply a polish to the boat and properly get it ready to take on to the water.

Hello Reddit, I recently bought a 2001 vt1100c3 shadow and I’m loving it so far. From my research it’s advertised around 240 kilometres minimum before having to switch to reserve. I’ve ended up stalling on the road twice now both at 160 kilometres and haven’t been able to pass that without needing reserve. Even switching to reserve takes a good minute before I can start it up again. Both times I’ve put about 12 litres in after driving immediately to a gas station. When I bough it I was told that the exhaust is an aftermarket but the rest is stock, I can’t see an exhaust causing 80 kilometres of lost fuel. Any advice?

I was doing as one does playing Skyrim on my Xbox 1 and then my game ended up getting a bug, I couldn’t sprint anymore and that didn’t strike me as a big deal, I tried some troubleshooting in the game ( I use the left trick for sprint and an interesting thing I found was when I tried switching the the button for sprint to something else, it wouldn’t let me unless I switched it with the menu button) trying this and that but nothing was fixing it so I wanted to load an old save but when I was in the menu my left stick stopped doing things, it worked fine in the game but refuses to work in the game menu so I thought I would try restarting the system. I was not expecting that when I opened the menu that the problem would actually persist, I go to the game and I can move around just fine but with anything menu related, weather game menu or Xbox menu I could t navigate it. So I tried doing a deep cycle, turning it off by touch for 10 seconds and unplugged it for 30 and then started the Xbox back up. And then from the menu it would work for about 2 seconds and then wherever I had the curser, whatever icon, I wasn’t able to leave that icon. If I try to go left it will briefly move over then go right back to where it’s stuck. I tried a to deep cycle a couple times but it’s stuck like this. I wanted to try deleting and reinstalling the game and clearing my cach if I really had to but I can’t even get that far. It was just so weird that I could play the game fine up until I went to any sort of menu. Any help or answers would be appreciated, thank you.
