Looking for a roommate to join our 3br 1ba in East Williamsburg (close to Win Son, by the Montrose L stop) in an elevator building.

We’re looking for someone to sign a 1-year lease with us (12/1/2026 - 11/30/2027). Earlier move-in preferred/accepted but not required.

Building has a gym/laundry/steam room in the basement and a large rooftop. Walking distance to L, J/M and G trains.

I’ve been in this apt for 4 years now and in the building for 5 years. The bedroom available is 1 of 2 on the first floor of the apt and is the biggest/best bedroom which means it’s also the most expensive. We’re waiting to confirm the new lease rent but the room will be somewhere in the range of $1,870-$1,960 a month.

Us: 26 and 32 year old males, both work 9-5s and are quite busy with our outside lives as well. Into live music, photography, movies, etc.

You: Looking for someone who’s clean, responsible, considerate. We’re easy to get along with and would like someone similar :) late 20s - early 30s Male preferred

See pictured - my beat up Adrian loafers on the left that I got ~4 years ago, vs a pair I recently got on the right. The new pair is very uncomfortable, even after getting them stretched. The toe box is tighter and the biggest, most obvious difference to me is around the tongue area. I don’t know what it’s called but look at the strip that the tassle is on - it’s gotten higher and thicker, which feels tighter on the top of the foot and less forgiving.

I recall my original pair was pretty comfortable from the get go. I’m wondering whether this is a defect (I got a “bad” pair) or whether the construction has just truly changed for the worse.

Anyone notice or experience this? Has anyone gotten a pair recently that looks more like my old pair instead?
