[Duggan] The Giants will hold their 16th practice of training camp today at 1:30. It will be there 16th practice in 21 days. For comparison, the Giants held their 16th practice on the 33rd day of camp last year.

In fairness, the practice schedule will lighten now with two preseason games in six days, but still, the pace has been far more intense this year.

A quick reminder: the 2025 New York Giants and the 0-16 Detroit Lions went undefeated in preseason.

Preseason outcomes mean nothing. Watch the players. Strong preseason doesn’t necessarily mean strong regular season but poor preseason is a rough sign. Excited to see the boys out there today.

I’ll be watching all the draft picks, Darius Alexander, how the CBs and WRs are competing. Who are y’all watching?

[Duggan] Giants dodged their first major injury scare of camp. Newsome, who has been their most consistent corner, went down with a non-contact knee injury. But he checked out OK. Popped up, put his helmet back on and rejoined his teammates. Looks like he avoided anything serious.

[Skinner] Banks is solidly in play to start over Adebo it seems but twice today he was in position to make a play on the ball & didn’t. One over his head in 1 on 1’s that was a good play & one where Isaiah Likely made a tough catch in team drills

[Raanan] CB Dru Phillips has a mild knee sprain but will miss some time. CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse also didn’t practice again and is dealing with a nagging knee problem. Coach John Harbaugh said the Giants might sign another cornerback.

[Duggan] I’ll put it this way: I think Banks has had a better camp than Adebo (Newsome has been fine), but I need to see it for longer to fully buy it. I would still feel more comfortable with Adebo if the opener was tomorrow
