I'm guilty, I infected my little sister with the vinyl virus. Some days ago we basically setup the new rack incl rewiring.
And on the first listening, I noticed some harsh scratchy sound even on fresh vinyls. So it’s either the Ortofon system or (unlikely) the speakers. I suspect it’s the old Ortofon system.

So I’ll replace it with my old (but known working) AT-VM95E system to rule out if it’s actually the system or something else.

As my sister is not an audiophile (and don’t want to be), what nice and affordable system you would suggest for the Thorens TD280? Is the AT-VM95E good enough or should we look for a better system?

Was looking for an affordable copy of this album, but they rereleased it this month. Good for me and my gold vault. (Unfortunately,) it’s a 3-LP with bonus tracks on LP 3. I don’t like bonus tracks, rather prefer how the initial release was made. Anyways, I don’t need to listen to the extra record and just enjoy the album..

Just upgraded from my AT-LP120 to Rega Planar 6 some days ago..

The Yamaha speakers will be replaced by some Dali Oberon 3 speaker soon.

I think this will be my setup for the next years.
