What gets you listening to a song?

We all listen to music. I love music, but what gets you to actually click, consume and eventually like or love a song? What pulls you into tracks that you love?

Me personally, a lot of my favorite tracks were heard from all sorts of different sources, many places and many different mediums because I can listen to most genres and shit. But because of that, I can't really put myself in the shoes of the common listener, so this is why I ask.

Music Scenes

I've lived in North Dakota my entire life, born on the rez, been to every county, I used to know a lot about my state but since 2017 I just sort of stopped researching my own state for some reason.

I know Minot has a music scene, punk scene I believe and something else. What sort of music scene does (or did) Bismarck have.

DnB or Breakbeat, or something else? How does this track of mine sound and what genre is it really?

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHEh8sps_hM
Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/3GW46CJ4sQdzLFbwlaqVCf?si=3pidN1YnTrS4cO2pFj-7fg

I would like to try and get my music out there, but the biggest issue is that I really don't know what specific sub-genre my music is. I know main, general genre, but when it comes to the descriptive sub-genre, I get lost completely. I make my music just completely off of vibe and how much I like it.

Any help on figuring out the exact genre on my song? Artist: Marshmallow Ninja

I know that the song is DnB in general, but I wonder if there might be any specific subgenre that it could be put with?

I usually make music without specific genres in mind, just vibe and feeling most of the time.

Is my song a happy hardcore track, or something else?

I know the general vibe of stuff like hardcore, UK hardcore, happy hardcore, techno, old school house, etc etc. But I can't precisely pin down the right genre for this track I made, I had some services say it's old school techno, another one saying that it's eurodance, a person said that it was happy hardcore...

But I've heard some happy hardcore in my time, alongside other genres but I can't exactly put a finger down on it at all. I thought of it being some sort of odd fusion but that'd be similar to me thinking I created an entirely new sub-genre.

Can someone help a bit?
