Found this by chance and found it a pretty comprehensive summary of the dual power systems of Toaru.

Edit: Perhaps a better line would be

- Sakko, after trying the water from succulents for the first time

This map uses both collapsing water sources and activating drain holes in the main lake to keep your colony on their paws (with some 'regular' badwater threats).
