Been using the phone since april 2023 and yesterday suddenly this happened.

Company only replaces free of cost, within 3 years of purchase.

It happened around 2 years ago and honestly, even now I randomly think about that night.

One of my friends had given me his school friend’s number — Poonam. I didn’t expect much when I texted her, but she replied almost instantly. We talked on and off for around 10–15 days. Nothing serious, nothing flirty either. Just low-effort conversations about college, daily life, random memes… the kind where you don’t even expect to meet in real life.

From her pictures, she looked cute — fair-skinned, slightly chubby, short, very Delhi-type vibes. She lived alone in a government apartment near Dhaula Kuan that was allotted to her mother.

One evening while chatting, the topic shifted to drinking. I casually joked that we should drink at her place someday.

She simply replied, “Friday after college?”

I still remember carrying the alcohol and cigarettes to her flat thinking this would either be awkward as hell or unexpectedly fun.

Her place was exactly what you’d expect from an old Delhi government flat — spacious rooms, heavy furniture, slightly yellow lights, and a tiny backyard garden that actually looked peaceful at night.

At first everything was normal. We drank slowly, talked about college, professors, mutual friends, random embarrassing stories. Nothing romantic. Nothing suggestive.

After a couple of drinks she suddenly said, “Let’s make pasta.”

Turns out she had already ordered all the ingredients beforehand.

Cooking with her while both of us were tipsy honestly changed the whole vibe. We were laughing too much, bumping into each other in the kitchen, stealing bites while the pasta cooked. It felt weirdly comfortable for two people meeting for the first time.

Later we sat down to eat and opened another drink. She lit a cigarette while leaning back on the chair and for a second her top lifted slightly near her waist.

And I noticed.

I don’t know if it was the alcohol or the tension building all evening, but my hand brushed against her waist while we were talking. At first she barely reacted. Then after a moment she moved my hand away and quietly told me to behave.

I stopped.

For a while.

But the chemistry after that became impossible to ignore. Every conversation suddenly had pauses. Eye contact started lasting longer. We were sitting closer without realizing it.

When I touched her waist again, she looked at me for a second… then just sighed and let it happen.

That moment completely changed the atmosphere.

A little later she suddenly leaned back onto the bed nearby and laughed nervously, saying, “We’re meeting for the first time… let’s not make this weird.”

I told her I just liked being close to her and that we’d meet again anyway.

And then we kissed.

Slow at first. Then messy, drunk, impatient kisses that kept interrupting each other with laughter. The kind where you can feel both people giving in at the same time.

After that, everything became a blur of warm skin, cigarettes, alcohol, her pulling me closer every few seconds, and both of us acting like we’d wanted it the entire evening.

What I remember most honestly wasn’t even the physical part.

It was how intense she became once she stopped holding herself back.

The way she kissed me like she was trying to make up for all the hesitation from earlier. The way she looked at me afterwards while lying beside me, completely relaxed, hair messed up, smiling for no reason.

We stayed there quietly for some time before I finally left late at night.

We did meet again after that.

But that’s a different story.
