My AC stopped working. Any ideas why?

The A/C in my 2020 Ford Escape (1.5L) stopped blowing cold air all of a sudden. One thing I’ve learned with these cars is it’s always the simplest solution, but a complicated fix to DIY. Took it to ford and they wanted me to replace the compressor at $875. Could it be that I just need to recharge my refrigerant (which is underneath the car)? I love this car, but Jesus fixing things on it is a royal pain in the ass.

Downloaded DriverPal and…

I set my minimum per mile rate at $1.10/mile and my hourly at $17/hr (small market). Much to my lack of surprise, all of my Uber offers except 1 was trash. However, all of my Lyft offers were good. It was still a crappy day, but at least this almost proves something I’ve long suspected.

I got this same offer 4 times with no price increase

This ride was offered to me four times yesterday with no increase
and I declined it each time. Yet, on the fourth timed the offer decreased to $88 (was unable to screen shot it). This company has lost its damn mind. It needs to be double the offered $0.60/mile to take this.

Uber is manipulating fares on Uber Eats based on tips

I’ve believed this for some time, I have a full spreadsheet with data that somewhat proves this. I did five deliveries today, ones with high tips paid low fares. Ones with low tips, paid higher fares. I know there’s a common conspiracy theory that uber keeps tips, but I have thought this for a long time. May have data to prove it.

Uber is robbing us broad daylight

Passenger paid $112 for this and offering the driver $58 to go 80+ miles … ONE WAY! There is never a tip associated with these rides and you’re not getting a ride back. I didn’t accept this, but the audacity is what’s maddening.

Not with these gas prices

90 miles one way for $0.60/mile with gas at $4.49/gallon? You’re out of your mind Uber.

Also, this kind of supports my theory the algorithm is set to cap our earnings at $20/hour.

I might have taken this, but with gas now reaching $5/gallon this ride is not even close to feasible. I drive a car with a 14 gallon tank. At $4.99/gallon that’s about $70 to fill up. My car gets roughly 26-28 miles per gallon. Uber has to do something.
