Where do all the unemployed people hangout?
Done with spring/summer exams now and over the past 3 months I've quite enjoyed the habit of having to leave the house virtually everyday, sun beamin', air is nice and all that. With exams done now, school is quite scanty and I'm just wondering where I can chill, preferably for free, just pop in with a book and be around people around my age/in a similar stage of life and maybe strike a conversation or something. I'm super super broke/frugal so really looking at things that do not require an entry fee and are a reasonable distance away(from the 672/662 bus axis), thus making it possible to bike/cycle.
Essentially, I'm looking for a 3rd space (but using that word is a slight pet peeve of mine). Basically looking for a Salon. Discord could have scratched this itch for the most part but most of them are sadly quite inactive.
It's not like I can't possibly stay home and read a book or work on projects and stuff, I'm just looking to step out every once in a while and possibly become a regular somewhere. It can be nice to hear a voice that is not your own, every once in a while.
But if anyone is hiring as well for positions with bare minimum qualifications or qualifications that the median university student is expected to have...., I'll take that, I'd bloody love an office job! I think a job kinda solves some of these things for me. I thought about coffee shops but from my limited experience, I'm generally awkward in them and I really can't afford to purchase anything, ergo, absolving me of the right to occupy a spot in the establishment.
So yeah, where do all the jobless people hangout(besides at home).
