Rule Review - Rule 3 and other suggestions

Hi everyone!

The mod team is currently reviewing rule 3 - no generative ai. The way the rule is currently worded prohibits generative AI “content”, but allows for assistive text based ai such as grammarly. However we see that content isn’t properly defined in this instance, which can cause confusion over what is and isn’t allowed.

So we can moderate this consistently, we wanted to ask the community for their opinions, so we can ensure fair moderation for all users.

Regarding rule 3, I’d like to pose the following questions.

  1. To what extent should we prohibit AI? Entirely AI generated videos, audio, images and text remain strictly prohibited, however we see that human made content that is modified by ai in some way can fall into a grey area. For example, a human made image, but ai modified the colours on it.

  2. There are editing tools that use ai to some degree that don’t generate new content, such as background removers (for example, you take a picture of your action figures, but use apples ai background remover tool to remove the background), editing templates (like CapCut) and image enhancers. Should these be allowed or should they be restricted?

If you have any further thoughts or questions on this, please comment below.

We are also open to other rule suggestions as well which we may implement or trial. If you have any suggestions as well, please comment these below and we may consider these.

Thank you :)

My plane special interest just gets even better!!!!!

So…you may have seen I posted a few days ago I was at Gatwick airport and had a prime runway view.

Then I saw my first and only ever emergency landing. (Posted here and in aviation)

Now while I’m on holiday…I SEE 2 PLANES IVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!! AND BOTH MILITARY!! AND BOTH 4 ENGINED!!

Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, literally next to my easyJet A320Neo as I stepped off the plane.

C-130 Hercules in desert camouflage, flew straight over my hotel.

I’m one lucky son of a bitch

EZY32KL emergency landing at LGW

I was conveniently at Gatwick in a hotel when this easyJet flight had multiple hydraulic failures and had to emergency land shortly after takeoff. You can see the landing gear doors stuck open as it lands, since they couldn’t retract closed.

Aircraft is an A319 and was on its way to Valencia

Damnit

Pretty much the only reason I got a serious was going from a country road at 60mph (though I was doing about 45 due to a slow car infront) to a 30 zone. Unfortunately I just didn’t brake hard enough and crossed the zone sign above 30. Really annoyed as that was just easily avoidable and the rest of the test was really good.

Minors were as I was leaving the test centre, missed an opportunity to emerge, and the move offs were stalls which happened kinda due to nerves.

Already got a new test date for August though hope an earlier one opens up🤞 this was only my first attempt so, as long as I can just react about 0.1s faster next time I should pass.

Just hope I have a different examiner next time.

So my practical test is in 11 days time and I did my first proper mock text with my instructor.

First 20 minutes were basically faultless. Then I got fooled by a bus lane. I was about to switch lanes there across broken white lines, but as it turns out those are just for buses and taxis, the one for all other vehicles for a left turn was a bit later. That’s legit the only serious I would have got.

I had 5 other faults, mostly for observations (I got complacent doing reverse bay) or speed (incorrectly thought I was in a 20 when I should’ve done a 30). But honestly, that serious is one i definitely won’t do again. Instructor also said some of the other faults were a bit harsh, but I want harshness. Idk who I’m getting as the examiner, so I want to be ready for anything.

I do feel better knowing I have a really good shot at passing.
