Centurion

Went to Tankfest last weekend and Haya UK had this bad boy on special offer. Centurion, metal tracks, sprocket wheels and gear box. Need add on the detail parts. The green is pretty close to British army bronze green but might paint some of the detail parts.

Hat clean and reshape?

My 20+ year old Drizabone rabbit fur felt slouch hat. Probably the best hat I've ever had. Pulled out of the cupboard recently, battered, stained, well worn. I was thinking it's time had come but the felt still feels good. Any tips/products to clean, restiffen and reshape?

New (Old) Sword Day.

Not 100% sure what this is. Listed as a British 1788 pattern light cavalry sword. Marked Woolley (& something?) to the spine, so British made. Matches dimensions to the 1788 pattern but has a brass guard and leather scabbard rather than the regulation steel.. Has been sharpened. Not likely a troopers sword, but what? Private purchase? Militia?

New (Old) Sword(s) Day

Been waiting 4 weeks for these 2 to arrive from auction.

1895 pattern infantry officers sword. Retailer is FW Flight of Winchester. The blade has a proof disc with Proved over a Crown and the spine of the blade has "London Made" on it. Haven't been able to track down the maker yet. Nice engraving though, VR cypher to one side and Royal Coat of Arms to the other. Hasn't been service sharpened.

The other was listed as a 1796 pattern infantry officers sword. The hilt is plain, no trace of gilding and the guard doesn't have the folding inside section, unlike the officer's spadroon. The blade is only 60 cm/24 inches long, so much too short as well. I did wonder if it had been shortened but looking at it alongside my other 1796 spadroon, the blade has a different proportion. I think it's a drummer's sword. Pretty ropey condition but if I'm right it's pretty rare.

1796 pattern heavy cavalry trooper's sword. Been after one of these for a while, missed out on a few at auction but threw caution (and financial sense) to the wind and bought this at auction. Drove across the country to pick it up today.

No scabbard, it's lost it's langets and is a little beat up but solid hilt, hatchet tip, and original shaped disc guard. It's marked Craven to the spine and has an inspection mark on the blade. The guard is marked QDG, A 27, possibly A troop, 2nd Dragoon Guards (Queen's Bays.)

These are getting quite rare and pricey.
