Hey Guys I’ve had this helmet in my collection for a while now and haven’t got round to doing much research on it .
The story goes it is a British made Mk1 reissued to the US Navy some time between 1941 1942 before the introduction of the M1 ,it apparently served on the USS Raven a costal minesweeper that eventually saw action off the coast of Normandy in 1944 . It bears a vessels designation code however I’m unable to confirm whether or not this is USS Raven as MDC 55 doesn’t exactly match .If Anyone has more information on this I’d really appreciate it .
