question about water line repair texas after getting an insane water bill this month

woke up to our front lawn feeling like a total sponge yesterday right near the sidewalk. then our latest utility bill came in and it was nearly triple what we normally pay, so i am pretty sure our main line is leaking underground. we bought this house two years ago and this is the first major pipe issue we have had to deal with. the texas clay soil shifting after all the hot weather probably broke something down there. someone local mentioned looking into to get it sorted out. i am super anxious about getting taken advantage of or having my whole front yard completely dug up by excavators. before i start calling plumbers to get estimates i wanted to ask a few quick questions to anyone who has dealt with main line issues around here.

What’s the ultimate "guilty pleasure" purchase in your hobby that is completely unnecessary but brings you the most joy?

We all have the essential gear needed to actually do our hobbies. But I’m talking about that one completely extra, borderline ridiculous luxury purchase that you absolutely did not need, but you bought anyway because it just felt so cool. Think along the lines of custom-engraved knitting needles, a ridiculously high-end leather pouch just to hold your dice set, premium imported paper for casual sketching, or a vintage, over-engineered tool from the 1970s that does the exact same job as a modern $5 equivalent.
