Can BRD/BST/RNG.....

Manage higher difficulty raids?

I imagine that trio can do fine in d0-d2 stuff, for the most part, because just about anything can evidently.

I'm curious how it would fare without a real healer or tank in the group?

Sure, it has plenty of buffs, a decent enough slow, resource regen, etc.

But will the lack of real sustain or tank keep it from pushing much farther than D2ish?

ENC vs BRD

Hello all,

So I have never played either enc or brd. Unfortunately, I just didn't have the time to play beta that I would have liked.

I plan on pairing one or the other with a BST/BER, but i really only have knowledge of the enc/brd from youtube videos and reddit posts.

I get that you can play basically anything to 50 in this game naked with a bag of rocks on your back, but which slots in better with bst/ber?

I really just want to punch things in the face as much, and as quickly, as possible while my pet chews on their butts. I'm not too arsed with soloing d4 gods with this trio. When I want to do that, i'll put together a more meta trio or group up. This is purely for funzies (if it wasn't, I wouldn't be rolling bst lol).

Brd seems great in that it looks like I could just turn on some haste, slow, and aoe songs with symphonic aura then get to punchin'.

Enc seems to bring a more CC focused toolkit to help me not get my face caved in in return.

Help plz!

New character model/textures

I get that the devs have said they are sticking with the original character models/textures for eql. That's fine, they are the ones creating eql, so it's their call. Some people prefer the original models/textures, understandable.

However, i prefer the updated models/textures. what are the chances there will be modding capability to add the newer post luclin models and textures? Have the devs said anything about modding in eql?

Skill and gear questions

Hello all,
just some quick questions I had bangin' around the old noggin', if you would be so kind as to indulge me. I haven't played EQ in 20 years, so bare with me.

-Does berserker stance work with 1h weapons? presumably yes, but I am not certain

-Does plate armor matter THAT much? I'm thinking of making a BST/BER/DRU, which would of course limit me to chain armor at best. Is it really that big of a difference? should i swap the DRU out for cleric/pal/bard just for plate armor(and well, everything else that comes with those classes of course).

-Does BST get spellblade? I assume so, but can't confirm

The class fantasy i'm going for is a medium(leather or chain) armor wearing, dual wielding, nature based bruiser kind of character with an animal companion just going bonkers with the melee and healing himself through spellblade procs(mostly) Does lacking plate armor make that not really achievable?

*edit*

To add, i don't really much care about the meta stuff, i'm just looking for something to have fun with for an hour or two when i can. I just don't want to unintentionally totally gimp myself and ruin the experience.

BST/SHM/?

Hey all,

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, so i apologize.

I just found this project last week and i'm cautiously excited. I played original EQ from about '99 to about 2005.

I mained SK and DRU for the majority of that. Man that original SK epic sword quest was a beast.

Anyways, I want to try something different this time around. I've never played any of the EQ private servers or this tri-class thing, so i'm not entirely sure how it works, but I want to try out bst and shm. I haven't really been able to find many informative posts for BST, i'm guessing it's near the bottom of the pile or something, probably because bst is a hybridy hybrid and doesn't really specialize in one thing....which i imagine gets super diluted in a 3 class system when you can pick 3 actual pure classes to achieve the same thing, only better.

To the point, what should I pair with bst/shm?

I'm torn between dru, clr, or bard maybe?

What would you suggest, and why?
