I think about fancy pigeons a lot

I Just wanted to say that as a pigeon nerd, I think about ‘fancy pigeons’ quite often and don’t really have anyone to talk about it with… For anyone unfamiliar, the American pigeon museum has a pretty incredible archive of them, the ones I’m including in the photos are really just the tip of the iceberg. What is this bike worth?

Hey there, I brought home this bike from work (I work at an auction house; it came in with the contents of someone's estate). I have not cleaned it, so please do not judge how dirty it is!. I planned to keep it to ride, but I am now planning on moving before I ever get the chance. The frame appears to be straight with no obvious crash damage, but I have not had it serviced or checked out at a bike shop. Based on the research I have done, my best guess is that it's an Alan road racing bicycle built sometime around 1978–1980. Below are the components from what I can tell (not an expert at all). I have not disassembled the bike, so component identifications are based on visible markings only.:

Frame:

  • Alan bonded aluminum frame
  • Made in Italy
  • Serial number: 071146
  • Stamped 54 x 54
  • Original Alan globe decals are still present
  • Brushed/raw aluminum finish (does not appear to have been repainted)
  • Seatpost: Unknown alloy fluted seatpost (no visible maker's marks)

Cockpit:

  • Cinelli handlebars
  • Cinelli stem
  • Campagnolo headset

Drivetrain:

  • Campagnolo Nuovo Record rear derailleur
  • Campagnolo Record front derailleur
  • Gipiemme Special crankset
  • Bottom bracket cups stamped 36 x 24 (Italian threading)
  • 5-speed freewheel

Brakes:

  • Universal Mod. 77 front and rear calipers

Wheels:

  • Campagnolo Record large-flange hubs
  • Campagnolo quick releases
  • Fiamme tubular rims
  • Clement Criterium Seta Extra tubular tires (current tires)

Other Components:

  • Campagnolo seat binder bolt
  • Brooks Swift leather saddle (later addition)
  • Gyes leather saddle bag (later addition)

My questions are: how can I figure out the production year if the seat post isn't marked? Does the build seem mostly factory-original, or is it largely assembled from period components? And finally, any idea of what the bike is worth (especially as-is)?
