In 2008, while deployed at sea, the crew of the USS Harry S. Truman found a eurasian screech owl hiding in the wheel well of an F-18 hornet. The owl was recovered and nicknamed "Fod", an acronym for "foreign object debris".

Robbing Ducks of their Dignity

Yesterday we took a trip to a farm store for fence materials and found some poultry hats while we were there. We tried them out on our three tamest ducks today, with mixed results. Maple and Ramona didn't mind but Fenna wasn't a fan.

They come with chinstraps but nobody would wear them that way. A little bit of weak double-sided tape was acceptable, though.

First time photographing an Owl!

I'd never seen an owl with my own eyes, despite barn owls being quite prevalent near where I live, but whilst holidaying in Northern Ireland I got to see this gorgeous Eurasian Eagle Owl.

One angry bird

I’ll try and figure out how to post the video, it’s amazing. Only cardinals and BlueJays ever visit my BB, and here they meet.

Stan didn’t know that Darlene’s new beau had installed motion sensor lights, when he decided to peek into the old nest to see how much she was missing him.

After Irena had left Stan, he decided to see what was going on with Darlene, back at the old homestead. No one had told him that Darlene had taken up with another man and that she was actually happy. In the brief moments before the spotlight came on, Stan could see that Darlene was very, very happy. She had never done that fluffy little feather dance for him!

I'm going to explode

...from how cute this White-winged Fairywren is. He is not trapped. He is okay. But why does he look so serious.
