Paypal authorization for payments on a failed pay in 3 transaction?
Can anyone help? Tearing my hair out here...
So last night I attempted to purchase a lot of toiletries (shampoo conditioner cleanser body spray aromatherapy spray etc) from a company I've ordered from several times before. The total came to £88 (I'm in the UK). At checkout I saw that PayPal pay in 3 was an option so thought why not? I've used it before and it is convenient for slightly larger purchases
It accepted my pay in three and said that it would take a payment of £29.33. However when I got to the final button I found myself stuck on the Blue Wheel of Death for about 6 minutes, after which time it crashed out and said "something went wrong, please choose a different payment method, PayPal is not available at this time".
I tried twice more thinking it was my Internet connection which had been spotty all day with various sites taking ages to load. Eventually got fed up and thought I'd leave it and try again today. The transaction did not complete and all products were still in my bag at checkout on the company's website.
This morning when I checked my bank account I was fairly horrified to see that *3* payments of £29.33 were showing as pending to PayPal and my balance had been reduced by nearly £90!
I spoke to PayPal who said it was a failed transaction and would drop off "eventually" but they had a "system glitch" which meant that they were unable to void this authorisation themselves and that I just had to "wait".
Spoke to my bank who said that they couldn't do anything about it as the transaction was pending.
So what happens now? £90 of my money is floating around in cyberspace with noone seemingly able to get it back for me. And I still don't have the toiletries.
Help please!
