Looking for authentic Montessori programs in the SF Bay Area for staff to observe

We are doing a staff development day and I want us all to observe toddler and primary programs in the area. Looking for recommendations.

What are your center's policies for chronic toddler biting?

I'm curious what other programs do when a toddler is biting frequently. I know biting is developmentally normal, especially with limited verbal skills, but at what point do your centers send a child home or require additional support?

We currently have a child who bites daily, sometimes several times a day. Today, despite close supervision and immediate intervention, he bit three children and all three bites broke the skin. Two of the bites occurred directly in front of a teacher.

Do your centers have a certain number of bites that trigger a pickup? Do you require a behavior plan, speech evaluation, shadow teacher, or temporary exclusion? Have you found anything that helps?

I'm interested in hearing both parent and ECE perspectives and what your policies are.

Childcare directors: What is your policy regarding siblings when one child in the family has a contagious illness such as pink eye?

Do you allow the sibling to continue attending as long as they are symptom-free, or do you require them to stay home due to the high likelihood of household exposure?

We had a previous pink eye outbreak that appeared to spread through a sibling who was asymptomatic at the time, so I'm curious how other programs handle this.

Looking for western/history page-turners for an older guy

Looking for book recs for my dad. He’s an outdoorsy, horse-ranch, Bill O’Reilly history book type, but I’m trying to steer him toward books that are actually well-written and grounded in reality without triggering the “my liberal daughter is trying to reprogram me” alarm bells.

Could be fiction or nonfiction. Looking for page turners rooted in real history, the American West, war, exploration, political power, etc. I loved Lonesome Dove, but maybe something a bit shorter or faster moving.

At what age do you stop wiping butts?

I completely understand supporting newly potty trained children on their way to independence, but once a child is potty trained, are you still wiping them when they have bowel movements? Is there an age limit?

I’m curious how involved other preschool/childcare directors are during special events at school. For things like parent tea parties, birthdays, and classroom celebrations, does your director actively help during the event itself? I mean helping serving food or drinks, assisting children and teachers during transitions, helping manage the classroom during the event, and helping with setup and cleanup afterward. Or is most of it typically left to the classroom teachers? I’d love to hear what’s normal at other schools and what level of support staff usually receive during these events.
