I picked these up today and all of the purple ones show green under a 365nm blacklight. The one on the right also glows. Are any of these manganese glass? The 2 on the right are Coke glasses, but I don't know their age.
This was my first time looking for uranium glass and I got this haul for $33. After looking at a flow chart, I think these are manganese glass. Either way, I'm excited for the good deal!
It's official, Mondays during the workday are a great time to find glass! I got this amberina Toby colonial man jug today for $6! Everything online says Kanawha Glass, but the label clearly says Williamsburg Glass Co, so if anyone knows any details, please let me know!
I also got 12 pieces of uranium glass for $33, but I'll be posting those in the appropriate sub.
*Edit: It's probably manganese glass I got, not uranium! Off to research further.
I just found out about cadmium glass yesterday so I decided to head to Goodwill and see if I could find anything. And I totally scored! Got these for $4 each. Pics taken with 395nm flashlight, 365nm is in the mail.
I just learned about amberina glass today, so since I do a lot of thrift and antique shopping, I decided to go to my cupboards and see if anything glows.
I have 4 of the wine glass on the left, but only one glows. I bought them at separate times, so they aren't likely from the same place/batch.
The small vase on the right only has one ring that glows faintly.
I have used these glasses before but have removed them from my rotation to be safe. Sorry about the blacklight being so dim, but all I have is a little flashlight, and it looks brighter in person!
I bought these glasses today at an antique store (for $75) because orange is my favorite color and I rarely see orange wine glasses.
The tag says Amberina Blenko, but I think they are from Pier 1 based on Google searches. Can anyone confirm?
I have never heard of amberina before, and I'm absolutely smitten! I'm bummed that I can't drink out of these glasses (and I thank this sub for teaching me), but they are still beautiful and I'm glad to have them. I might head back to the store with a blacklight to see what's up.
