We got Rainey a hammock.
Now she can be closer to her best friend Happy. Does anyone else use hammocks? Ours love them, especially Rainey. Bonus pic of the day she graced us with her presence.
Happy was a grumpy old guy until Rainey came along.
Happy doesn’t make friends easily, we had to build him a separate shelter for everyone’s safety. Rainey blew right past his defenses. Both were rescued from the streets here in Bangkok by my family along with many others.
My wife heard something while exercising in a nearby park, she found Cheetah lying in a hole crying faintly for help.
She was starving, dehydrated and suffering from diarrhea when we found her at two weeks old. A neighbor dropped off her twin brother a few hours later. We’d just adopted an orange boy two days before finding them, he’s pictured. They’re the closest of friends.
They were all taught how to cat by our Siamese boy, he thinks we got them for him. I’ve posted about her/them before, I’ve been away from them for quite some time and won’t be back home til next year. I just miss and think about them a lot and wanted to share.
Rainey introducing herself to Lumpy.
Rainey arrived at our gate demanding entry during a tropical thunderstorm, she’s found her home. We already had 9 cats and were at catpacity, we couldn’t find a good home for her and that’s alright, she’s loved to no end and knows it.
She only wants to be loved, rarely makes a peep and watches birds, squirrels and lizards all day without sleeping. I think she’s afraid she’ll miss something. We took a chance and put her in with an old grumpy tomcat we plucked off death row a few years back, he’s entirely smitten and calls for her every morning. We made a small separate enclosure for her where she seems so happy it almost hurts my heart.
Hot on the trail til he wasn’t
Our Siamese deploys his patented kitten spin at the end
Little girl we found screaming for shelter outside our gate in a thunderstorm.
How my daughter heard her over the storm I don’t know but Rainey has found her home with us.
A brother and sister pair we found in a nearby park as wee ones.
IPI in education
I’m not an educator but have been reading horror stories of how poorly students are faring now. Slower learners taking time from those who learn faster etc. It made me think me about a program we were enrolled in back in the 70’s, IPI. We learned at our own speed, I think we used microfilm or something. It seemed to work, my siblings and I tore through the learning, they ran out of lessons for my 6th grade sister, she was reading at the 12th grade level. I looked online and see some programs with that title but it doesn’t seem wide spread. It seems it could help the more advanced students to learn on their own instead of waiting their turn. Thoughts? Why was this not more accepted? What was the problem with it? Learning was never the same after we moved away. I’ll mention this was Newport Beach, Ca, a fairly wealthy community with more resources than most I’d imagine.
Another stray drawn in by the gravity of my boy’s giant orange melon.
First off Happy Mother’s Day to all you hardworking moms keeping us all in line, we’d be nowhere without you! I posted a video of another visitor the other day, our 10 cats draw attention. This guy is up to no good and comes with ill intentions. Quite honestly they both did, pinned back ears and licking of lips means trouble. He’ll be welcomed by a sprinkler I’ll be installing on my next visit, we don’t need him upsetting our happy home. Lumpy here had some ill effects after this encounter but is back to his usual self, can’t allow that.
