Ellie and Babs greet each other with nose boops!
Pickle and Dilly my little bonded pair
Dilly was part of a group of feral kittens that we trapped during a TNR “event” for the feral colony behind my old house that I held for my birthday a couple of years ago. We were TNR 11 adults and we trapped 8 kittens, 7 that ended up being my foster fails. We lost 1 of them to fading kitten syndrome. Don’t worry, they all were spayed/neutered once they hit 2lbs. For whatever reason as soon as Dilly met Pickle she became attached and wherever you see Pickle you see Dilly. If she can’t find him she walks around the house meowing. There are 2 other tuxies in the group, their names are Gherkin and Refrigerator aka Spicy because since they all look like Pickle my kids wanted them to be types of pickles.
Pistachio & Paprika: Bonded siblings that are less cuddly now
Bonded since they're kittens from the same litter.
We adopted them almost 2 years ago. They used to cuddle constantly when we first got them, but I rarely see them cuddle now. I know cats can become more independent, but I hope they still love each other a ton. They sometimes play a little too hard and it ends in hissing or growling, but overall they get along. Pistachio is a super cuddly, loving boy, and Paprika is a sweet, playful girl. I love them with all my heart.
We recently got a feral cat, Pepper (girl), and it seems like Pistachio is starting to bond with her. I hope Paprika and Pistachio's relationship doesn't become too strained from the new kitty. Paprika still hisses at Pepper occasionally.
I'll make another post to show off Pepper because I already have too many pics. 😅 I really think Pepper and Pistachio are starting to bond after about a month together. 💕
my girl has terminal cancer and I don’t know how to prepare her brother
My cat (Luna (the all grey one) 12F) just got diagnosed with a nasal tumor and only has a few months to live and i really don’t know how my other cat (Blue 10M) is going to react. She’s technically his aunt but he’s known her since birth and has been bonded to her for his entire life. They sleep together every night, groom each other, play with each other, cuddle nonstop, etc. I have a dog too (beagle 5M) that grew up with them but they’re no where as close as my cats are to each other. She had to be separated for a few days after an MRI and Blue stayed outside her door almost the whole time. How do I help him as we get closer to losing her?
Edit: Thank you all for the overwhelming support and responses, I’m crying as I’m reading them. I’m 100% going to be doing at home euthanasia, I had no idea that was an option so I really appreciate everyone who brought it up. It’s heartbreaking hearing your stories but it does give me hope that your pets recovered from the grief. I’m hoping he bonds with his dog brother because I really don’t know if my heart could take getting another cat. I’ve had Luna since I was 15 and I’ve loved her with every ounce of my heart for the past 10 years. If he has too much trouble adjusting or stays mourning for an unhealthy amount of time, I’ll look into fostering to adopt. For now I’ll be giving them a hug for every person who sent one and spoiling my girl until I can’t anymore. Thank you all ❤️ And for everyone who was wondering, they are both Tonkinese
She just really fucking loves him
Maia & her cat (he agrees to this every time)
Mimi and her foster fail brother Mauricio
My Mimi girl (the grey kitty) is very cautious and doesn't enjoy being touched. She's adorable, always close and loves to play - but no touchies! When I took in Mauricio (the ginger kitty) to foster temporarily I hoped they would tolerate each other. Little did I know they would fully fall in love. So yeah, he had to stay. Now whenever I wish I could cuddle Mimi, I just put Mauricio next to her and watch them cuddle up together and feel the same joy as if I had pet her myself. My two little darlings 🥹❤️
The Lovecats
Pooper = void cat
Cutesy = standard issue cat
Double decker kitties
Margot and Cash are always cuddling together, with Cash usually on top of Margot 😆
I think Pistachio & Pepper are starting to bond! Paprika tolerates her lol
I love my kitties!
Pepper (tortie) was feral as of about a month ago, now I think she's starting to bond with our boy, Pistachio (tux). They like to play, chase each other, and lay around in bed together, not snuggling... yet.
The last pic is the only photo I have of our other tortie, Paprika with Pepper. They haven't bonded, but they co-exist with minimal hissing or growling from Paprika. Pepper wants to be friends with everyone and seems very thankful to be a housecat now!
See more of Pistachio and Paprika in my previous post.
Tavi and Magus, best buds ❤️
When we got Tavi he immediately bonded with Magus, but Magus was a little slow to warm up to him. Soon enough though they were basically inseparable. Magus was eleven when Tavi entered our lives as a wee kitten and sadly passed in August of 2024 at age fifteen. Tavi and I were heartbroken of course, but we’ve had sweet Romeo (pictured in last photo) to help ease the grieving process. The two of them aren’t bonded per se, but they do snuggle together about once a day (they fight or ignore each other the rest of the time lol)
they just melt my heart!
cassie (white w balding mullet) always shoves her face into oreo (tuxedo) when he's grooming himself and he drops everything to groom her. it only stops when one of them (usually oreo) decides it's time to playfight. they're ridiculous.
Orange will groom, whether you want it or not
Paul looks mildly offended that his grooming isn't being accepted
My older cat finally met her match 😂
My older cat, Lucy, usually doesn’t like other cats and hisses at almost everyone. But for some reason, she accepts this younger cat.
The funny part is that Lucy still tries to act tough and hiss at her, but the younger cat hisses right back. Lucy always looks so confused, like she didn’t expect anyone to challenge her.So basically, as you can see in the photo, the younger cat made her priorities clear right away: “I respect you… but I’m not scared of you.”😂😂😂
Leela and Lilo
Just thought I’d share a couple more pictures of my bonded pair.
I'm told you may appreciate my kittens.
Pepper and Chai are brothers, recent rescues (they came home to us about a month ago) from a situation with too many cats and not enough food, about nine months old, and almost competitively cuddly. They're both halfhearted attempts at black cats - Pepper is the darkest possible brown with stripes just visible even in low light, and Chai's tail and pantaloons (he's longer-haired) are inexplicably salt-and-pepper grey. They're causing absolute havoc and it's great. Here they are performing 'cat pile'.
