Big Thanks to the Bowlbo Team at TooManyGames
To be semi-serious for a second in the Oneyplays subreddit, I just wanted to give the Bowlbo team (and Tomar) a huge thank you for coming out to TooManyGames this weekend, setting up the demo, and chatting with everyone. I got a chance to stop by and speak with some of the devs and planners (especially shoutout to Bryce!) working on the game about the process and what’s been going on the with game, and I just really appreciate everyone’s time and passion that everyone gave! Every time I passed by the booth over the last few days, there was usually a decent line of people waiting and playing the game as well as Chris, Tomar, and everyone else on the team going out there and chatting with everyone, taking photos, and answering questions. I know conventions like this can be exhausting and attendees can be cringey, so it really meant a lot to see the team consistently being available to fans and people trying the game out.
The game itself was pretty fun and definitely enjoyable to play. Controls and movement felt smooth and slippery (in a good, natural way) for this kind of platformer. The art and visuals are of course a standout, and it’s probably my favorite thing about the game just seeing how grotesque the clay-like models look sometimes (which I love). The music was, in my opinion, pretty impressive and I really loved the difference in themes between the few areas the demo played in. And there were a few moments and dialogue lines that I thought were pretty funny and enjoyable for sure.
Anyways, thanks Bowlbo team, game was fun, and back to slapping my bulbous, ringworm-infected belly.
