Scholarship appeal

I already sent a message to financial aid but I wanted to know if anyone else ever had this happen to them. I transferred to UNLV this fall and I did my transfer over the summer and missed the e deadline for IAA. Because of that I don’t qualify for any scholarships. Which I need to cover my tuition. Has anyone ever appealed it and they got tuition+ or any other UNLV scholarships? I’m not sure what to do :/ I really don’t have 2k to drop this semester

Transferring/tuition not covered

My Pell grant did pay for some my classes. However I have 11 credits this semester. I still didn’t get the full amount but it didn’t matter anyways because it would not be covered regardless if I add or subtract classes I take. Anyone know what I can do? I transferred during the summer and although I completed my fasfa when it opened last year, I did not fill out the Institutional Aid Application then because CSN didn’t have that and I didn’t know UNLV had it. I have seen done it about a month ago even though that’s late. Can I appeal this? Does anyone know what I can do? If I drop a class will it adjust or will I still owe now that’s it been disbursed ?

Pell grant

Anyone have issues with their Pell grant being reduced? At CSN I could take a class or two and I was always awarded the full amount which is like $3678 it would cover my classes and I’d get a refund. At UNLV I just transferred - I sign up for two classes or three and my tuition exceeds the full amount & somehow the Pell grant gets reduced regardless. To my understanding they want me enrolled full time, okay so I did that but now my tuition is 4k which still exceeds the Pell grant amount so now I owe for the semester. Idk what to do because at Unlv I’m not getting other grants or scholarships. Anyone else have this issue?
I ended up having 11 credits total which the Pell grant is now offering $3068 so still not the full amount but my tuition bill is at $4068 already

LOCKDOWN BROWSER AND EXTERNAL WEB CAMERA

Anyone have any issues?? I used my MacBook as my base web camera built in & used my personal cell phone as an external. I propped up my phone again a water bottle and started my exam. Within 10 mins I noticed my external camera went black and it said “session completed”. I didn’t know what to do so I made an out loud comment about it and since it let me continue my exam I did. I finished and that’s was that. I submitted a comment about the error that occurred.
This teacher is strict and I’m scared they are going to mark my exam a 0 because the camera was “off” or because it ended early. But I literally had no idea why it did that 😭 has this happened to anyone else????

Geology 101

Anyone have geology 101 professor Janine Roza?? My bf is taking this class and it’s kicking his ass. She’s not understanding at all.
I started the course with him to understand how she does her class and a lot of her quizzes she just has pictures where she labels them and they seem to be hard. Anyone else not understanding or understanding the pictures she puts in her quizzes? She also doesn’t tell you the correct answer if you get the question wrong so it’s hard for him to see his mistake. But these pictures of maps come up so often and he honestly always gets those questions wrong. Luckily the final is on the textbook alone and she won’t be putting pictures. (Correction: I guess she put pics on mid term but it wasn’t a lot) He had to do the extra credit assignments, it finally bumped his grade up but if he bombs the final I’m scared he won’t pass :/

Also he did the mid term study guide and still didn’t do good :/ if anyone did well on the mid term, do you mind if we see your study guide? If you think that will be helpful

FASFA

So I’m suspended from receiving financial aid since I failed some classes. I retook my anthropology 101 class and now I’m getting A. I have two other classes to retake. I only took 1 this summer because nothing else was available for me to take. Even after the A my gpa will still be just below a 2.0. This fall I want to take math 124 and/or English 231. I need to retake them.

My question is can I appeal for financial aid or should I just pay out of pocket this semester and hope to be reinstated in the spring?

Also I have an academic hold on my account due to academic suspension…how can I get that removed? It doesn’t let me enroll in any of my classes for fall

Keep going to school?

I’m 30. I’ve been back and forth with taking classes. Unfortunately I realized I’m not meant to take online courses and work. I’m not able to focus on school that way and I don’t learn via online. The only time I thrived was when I was taking in person classes and I had free time (no job). I had failed two classes 3 times (math 124 & eng 231) all because I tried to do them online. Now I’m on suspension. Anyone else have this problem and prevailed? Nursing is competitive and now my record is tanked :/ do you think I can come out of this ? I want to try again and only take in person classes and I’m lucky enough right now that my boyfriend is willing to let me stay home while I go to school.
