Is all hope for keeping Kratom legal lost?

I've been following kratom legislation pretty closely, and I can't help but feel like things have taken a turn for the worse this year.

Within roughly a year we've had Connecticut, Tennessee, and now Kansas all pass statewide bans. As far as I know, I can't remember another time where we've seen that many states ban kratom in such a short period. It feels like the momentum has shifted.

I'm in Georgia, so naturally I'm watching what's happening here too, and seeing other states fall one after another has me wondering if this is the beginning of a national trend.

Do you guys think this is just a bad year legislatively, or do you think we're headed toward more and more states banning kratom over the next few years? I'd especially like to hear from people who have been following kratom politics for a long time. Have there been periods like this before, or is this actually unprecedented?

I'm honestly extremely worried. I've been having thoughts questioning why all other states wouldn't follow suit.

I'm not trying to doompost. I genuinely want to know what everyone's opinion is on where kratom stands nationally. Is all hope lost, or do you think regulation (like KCPA laws) still has a real chance of winning out over outright bans?

Pending Refund Disappeared?

Has anyone else had pending refunds completely disappear from their bank account?

Yesterday I had two refunds show up as pending credits in my bank account (one from Amazon and one from another company). They both appeared under pending transactions, but my actual balance didn’t increase yet.

I checked this morning and both pending refunds completely vanished, like they were never there. No refund posted, no pending credit, nothing.

Has anyone experienced this? Did the refunds end up posting later or did something go wrong? I’m stressing because I’ve never had this happen before.

Georgia users / Worried after Tennessee ban?

Been thinking about this a lot lately after Tennessee officially moved to ban kratom, especially since Connecticut also recently went the full-ban route. But the fact that tennessee is a neighboring state, It honestly has me worried about the future here in Georgia.

Georgia has had the KCPA/regulation route for a while now, which I always thought was the smarter approach instead of outright prohibition. Age limits, testing requirements, labeling, etc. seemed like a reasonable middle ground. But now seeing states suddenly shift toward bans again makes me wonder if momentum could start changing nationally.

I know Georgia has generally seemed more supportive of regulation than prohibition, and from what I’ve seen there hasn’t been major recent movement toward a ban here. Still, Tennessee is right next door, and that makes this feel a lot more “real” to me than when random states talk about restrictions.

For me personally, kratom has been a much better alternative than a lot of other stuff I could’ve been relying on. I know not everyone has the same experience, but I also know a lot of people feel the same way and don’t want to see responsible adults punished because of bad actors or misinformation.

I’m curious what everyone’s thoughts are:

-Do you think Georgia stays regulation focused?
-Do you think more states are going to follow Tennessee?
-Are we heading toward tighter regulation nationally, or actual bans?
-Do you think the AKA and public testimony still have enough influence to stop more bans?
