Original ink on paper or print?

Hello all, bit of a different one here - I already know the artist but want to know if it’s the original as opposed to a print. I bought this piece at a fine art auction where it was described as an original pen and ink on paper, but I want to be sure. Here are some close-ups of the ink. The auction house think it’s original and the ink certainly appears to have faded to the off brown you’d expect (vs the violet ink I’ve seen used in prints of this picture.) You can also see the pooling of ink you’d expect to see where the pen came to a rest, but what do you think? Thanks in advance for your help!
