I have a 1996 Sea-Doo GSX with the 787 engine. It just started doing something today where it feels like driving a car that’s spinning the tires before they catch traction. The engine revs up, then the ski suddenly grabs and takes off. It only happens occasionally.
Does this sound like the jet pump? If so, should I replace the entire pump, or can I rebuild it? If a rebuild kit is the better option, which one would you recommend?

I went to park it and started hearing the power steering whine, so I knew something was wrong. I got out and it dumped almost all of the power steering fluid within about 7 seconds.
The leak only happens when I turn the steering wheel. I found the exact spot where it’s leaking, but I’m not sure if I need to replace the entire part or if I can just replace the seal. I tried tightening the bolt, but I didn’t want to strip it, so I stopped before forcing it. It’s right where the pump actually makes the steering rack turn.
ALSO would it be safe to drive to my shop if without killing the pump since it will be completely empty
Had an ABS light come on recently and the brakes definitely felt weird at slow speeds. By the time I got it to the dealer, the light had gone away and they said there were no active codes stored. They recommended replacing the front rotors, so I did, but it didn’t fix the issue.
Now it makes a grabbing noise at low speeds, and the brake pedal gets hard as a rock. It feels and sounds exactly like when you’re driving in snow and the ABS is activating, even though I’m just slowing down normally on dry pavement.
Has anyone experienced this before? Could it be a wheel speed sensor, ABS module, tone ring, or something else causing the ABS to falsely activate at low speeds? Any ideas would be appreciated.
It almost sounds like an old dirt bike trying to turn over. It started happening randomly and wasn’t there before. I’ve already replaced the CCV and the DISA but the noise is still present. Any ideas on what could be causing it?
So here’s an update on my worst nightmare.
The whole reason I started looking into the car was because cylinder 6 was misfiring. I heard a weird noise coming from the engine bay, so I removed the DISA valve and started the car. That’s when the glove got sucked into the intake.
After putting everything back together, cylinder 6 was still misfiring. But when I swapped the ignition coil from cylinder 6 to another cylinder, the misfire disappeared instead of following the coil. How does that make sense? Shouldn’t a bad coil cause the misfire to move to the cylinder it was swapped into? But hey I took a quick drive and it didn’t misfire or drive weird.

I had to take of my intake manifold and I don’t remember where this came from. It’s apart of the injector rail.
I endoscoped my engine and noticed that some cylinders are much cleaner than others. Doesn’t that usually mean the head gasket is bad?
I got the intake manifold off and found the glove. It looks like it’s jammed into one of the intake valves. What’s the best way to get it out from here? Has anyone dealt with something similar before? I’m trying to avoid pulling the head if possible.
I was trying to figure out a noise coming from my engine, so I removed the DISA to check if it was the source. I noticed the seal looked bad, so I took my glove and ended up placing it near the opening while trying to start the car to see if the noise would still be there without the DISA installed.
When I tried to start it, the engine sucked one of the gloves through the DISA port. I immediately heard the suction noise and shut it off after a couple seconds of cranking. The car didn’t fully start, it only cranked briefly.
I’m honestly frustrated with myself because I wasn’t thinking about where the glove could end up when I threw it, Now I’m planning to remove the intake manifold and try to retrieve the pieces, but I’m worried about how serious this might be. How bad is this situation?
Hey everyone,
I have a 2006 BMW 330i with the M54 and I’m getting these pending codes:
P0174 – System Too Lean Bank 2
P0306 – Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
The car is definitely misfiring, and I’m also hearing a weird noise from the intake side of the engine. The noise changes with RPM and seems to be coming from around the intake manifold area.
Anyone ever heard this noise sounds like a fan running under the intake manifold

'm going to be replacing my valve cover gasket and the valve cover itself. Should I switch to one of the aluminum/metal valve covers, or stick with the factory-style plastic one?
The car is catless and tuned if that makes any difference. I'm mainly looking for reliability and leak prevention. Anyone have long-term experience with the metal covers on an E46/M54?
I tried replacing just the gasket, but it didn’t fix the leak. I’m thinking about replacing the solenoid, but they’re around $600. Does anyone know of any good aftermarket brands that are a little cheaper, or a reliable website where I can buy a used one?
