TTC has made me feel like I’m slowly losing my mind 🫩

I just wanted to share my experience over the past few months and, honestly, get this off my chest. Whenever I’ve tried talking about it with the people closest to me, I always get the same comments: “Stop obsessing over it and it’ll happen,” or “You’re overthinking it.” So I’ve reached a point where I don’t really feel like I can talk about it anymore.
I’d really appreciate it if nobody judged my situation harshly. I’m feeling quite vulnerable at the moment, and I’m mostly posting this because I need somewhere to vent.
My partner and I decided we wanted to become parents in September last year. I should probably mention that, until a few years ago, I never actually thought I wanted to be a mother.
Our situation is a little unusual because of our age difference: I’m 32 and my partner is 47.
Although we made the decision in September, we couldn’t actually start trying until April this year. I was starting a new job and, honestly, I didn’t want to deal with the possibility of getting pregnant right away and having problems at work 🤡.
We’ve now been trying for six months. And yes, I know that objectively speaking, six months is not a long time. But it feels incredibly heavy to me. I can’t stop thinking about the fact that I might have waited too long and that we could have started years ago.
I feel guilty because I was the reason we didn’t start trying earlier. I didn’t want to be a mother before, and now I keep thinking that maybe I’ve wasted time that I can’t get back.
I’m also someone who naturally tends to think negatively, so what started as a pretty normal process quickly turned into me researching everything. I started using ovulation tests to better understand my fertile window and, because apparently my brain needed something else to worry about, I also started tracking my basal body temperature to make sure I was actually ovulating.
Even though I’ve always had regular cycles and have never had any reason to think I wasn’t ovulating, my brain went straight to “But what if I don’t?” 🙃
So here we are. Six months of trying, timing sex around the fertile window, tracking ovulation… and still no pregnancy.
And lately I’ve started feeling like it’s never going to happen.
I have an appointment with my gynecologist this Thursday, so I’m planning to talk to her about everything and hopefully get some perspective.
I know six months isn’t necessarily a long time. I knew that before we started trying. I knew pregnancies don’t happen immediately for everyone, and I knew that even healthy couples can take time to conceive.
But knowing that intellectually and actually living through it are two completely different things.
Before I wanted to become a mother, I understood that TTC could take months. Now that I’m actually in the middle of it, every month feels heavier, and I keep asking myself why it hasn’t happened yet. I know that’s not necessarily rational, but that’s where my head is right now.
Anyway, I mainly wanted to vent. I don’t really have a question or a solution I’m looking for. I just needed to say it somewhere where people might understand.
I genuinely wish everyone here the best of luck on their journeys. From the bottom of my heart, I hope every one of you gets the happy, healthy pregnancy you’re hoping for. 🫶🏻❤️

TikTok removed my Nostalgia, Ultra video from 2024 👀

Got this notification on TikTok today and I’m kinda confused lol.
For context, it was a video of my Nostalgia, Ultra vinyl (Yessir). I was playing the record and had some of the lyrics from We All Try on screen.
The video was posted in 2024 and they randomly took it down today 👀
Are they removing videos of the album now?? Or did I just get insanely unlucky? Has anyone else had this happen?

Does anyone have the full Fallon performance of Juna? It’s blocked in my country

A while ago I watched Clairo’s live performance of Juna on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the one where she does the little trumpet part with her mouth. I absolutely loved that performance and wanted to watch it again.

Today I went looking for it, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. The only version I found on YouTube says it’s blocked in my country.

Does anyone happen to have a mirror, a download, or another link where I can watch it? I’d really appreciate it, it’s one of my favorite Clairo performances.

Thanks!!!

My Kindle completely changed my reading habits 🫶🏻

My Kindle has completely transformed my reading habits.

Back in March, my husband gave me a Kindle because I had made it a goal to get back into reading this year. I hadn’t been reading regularly for years, and honestly, I didn’t expect a device to make such a big difference.

Ever since I got it, I’ve been reading every single day. So far this year, I’ve read 20 books. Even during some very stressful periods at work, I never skipped my daily reading time. In fact, it became the thing that helped me manage my anxiety the most.

I recently saw someone here say they felt embarrassed about using a Kindle in public. I’m the complete opposite. It’s so convenient that I’ll read anywhere I get the chance.

This past school year, for example, I had a one-hour bus ride to work every day. At first, I thought it was going to be exhausting, but I ended up loving it because it gave me a whole hour to read. I arrived at school feeling much calmer and more relaxed.

As a high school Spanish Language and Literature teacher, I’ve always been a strong advocate for physical books. But owning a Kindle has completely changed my perspective. I still love paper books, but my Kindle has achieved something I never expected: it turned reading into a daily habit. And in the end, that’s what matters most.

P.S. :The other day, thanks to this subreddit, I found out that you can track your reading streak in the Kindle app. I checked mine and was pleasantly surprised by how well I’d been doing. The only days I missed were the ones when I was completely overwhelmed with work and simply couldn’t fit any reading into my day.

I just bought this for €15

I just bought this for €15. I know it’s a bootleg, but I wanted it for my collection. I haven’t seen it on Discogs, and I can’t find any videos of it either, so I’m curious to see what it’s like when it arrives.
If anyone has it and can share their thoughts on the sound quality, I’d really appreciate it.

(I know it says €20, but they ended up selling it to me for €15)
