Two weeks with the Carina C2 – here’s how it improves over the C1 (Wayfarer user)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using the Ray‑Ban Meta Wayfarer Large for a while now, and I had the C1 since last year. About two weeks ago I picked up the C2, so I thought I’d share my real‑world thoughts – not a spec sheet, just what I actually noticed.

  • Comfort – the nose pad is a lot better

This was my biggest gripe with the C1. After a few hours, the nose pad would dig into my bridge and leave a red mark.

The C2 thins down the pad. they say about 40% slimmer. In practice, it feels more balanced. I wore it for a solid 6‑hour photo walk last weekend and when I took it off, no marks, no soreness. Huge improvement for long days.

  • Charging – it actually stays connected

The C1 would sometimes stop charging mid‑way for no reason. You’d snap it on, think it’s charging, come back later and find it barely moved. Super annoying.

The C2 has some new smart chip or algorithm. honestly I don’t care about the tech, but it works. It stays locked on and charges steadily. Even if you knock it a bit and it loses contact, it auto‑resumes. I haven’t had a single failed charge since I got it.Two things to keep in mind

  • Compatibility: C2 is only for Wayfarer Regular and Large (both Gen 1 & 2). If you have Headliner, you’ll need the C1.
  • The cable: C2 does not include the magnetic charging cable in the box. You have to buy that separately. C1 came with everything, so budget for that if you go with C2.

Bottom line

If you’re a Wayfarer user and you’ve been dealing with the C1’s comfort or charging hiccups, the C2 is a genuine upgrade. It’s more refined, and it fixes the two biggest annoyances I had.

That’s my experience so far. Anyone else using the C2? How’s it working for you? Or if you’ve got questions, drop them below. I’ll check back.

Cheers.

I recently saw the new Carina C2 battery solution come out and it looks pretty solid. This will actually be my first accessory for the glasses, so I’m pretty excited to try it out. Stay tuned for my review.
