My favorite alter makes me think too much

One of my favorite parts of playing Magic is playing cool cards and having the chance to appreciate awesome art as I looked at them in my hand or on the battlefield. Unfortunately, there are a lot of my cards whose faces don't see the light of day anymore except when I go through my binders. Last night I had one of those days where I just went through my binders and looked at cards for hours and I stared at this card for 10 minutes alone.

Yes, this is an Amy Weber "Time Walk" alter of an Arabian Nights Mountain. This is my favorite land I own. It came to my LGS through a very serious collection about 4 years ago, but unfortunately I don't know its story. I frequently wonder how it came to be, and it makes me wish cards could talk so they could tell their own stories. It's sad to me that no one ever gets to see this because I'm too afraid to sleeve it up in a deck. It makes me wonder how many other cool pieces of artwork never get to see the light of day and are hidden except to their owner.

No, this post is not an attempt to sell this card and I am not interested in offers. I intend to keep this in my collection.
